Terraria discussion thread

Decided to make a new world for the new biomes and to do hard mode. I stayed up until ~6 AM planning and creating my floating house. I have no regrets. It's not super fancy, but it's compact and symmetrical. May expand and add more above my house later on. Need to get rid of the 1st floor torches and finish the rope.

Made some small adjustments; got seeds for all 8 plants, as well as blowing up some elevated land below me so zombies can't touch my house anymore. Will soon level all the land below me so only double jumping Cloud in a Balloon + Lightning Boots can reach my house anymore. Or I can always use lots of rope.

Any plans for when the server might be hitting hard mode?

Just so you know, i'm always willing to let southperrians in my server. (If you're not on the SP server yet that is).
I use ethernet for maximum connection for the server and it's on 24/7.

Current players: Me, Cousin, Classmate, Little brother.
Nobody gets in eachothers way with building and we always discuss major progresses in the game.
(Hardmode wont be until everyone agrees to this).

It's a large world by the way.

Progress:

- Painted a lot of stuff now to make the colours pop out more.
- Made my tree floating on a giant island which I tried to shape like a heart (Somewhat).
- Made some new stuff and found some new stuff aswell.

Pretty proud of what I made starting from scratch using only one world and no illegit ways of obtaining stuff.

Any plans for when the server might be hitting hard mode?

Whenever really. We probably could have gone into Hard Mode already, but I figured quite a few people would miss out on some of the normal mode stuff that was added in 1.2. Plus I've been on and off trying to get as much Life Crystals / Hellstone as possible for people.

It's up to you guys when you want to enter Hard Mode since you're all on it more than I am.

IT'S SO ADDICTIVE

I have barely progressed at all, even though I've been playing lots. It's still so incredibly fun.

A friend of mine found an extractinator (two, actually), and we've been using them. It's pretty OP, but it's a good way of getting the ores that haven't spawned in your world (in my case, all non-standard ones), since I need them for staves and my armor collection.

I have ~35 Life Crystals and some gear to give out if anyone joins the server after we go hard mode and needs a leg up.

Neither of us can connect to each other. We could just fine using Hamachi but now it won't work. She's even trying to set up a server for just the two of us and still nothing.

Any solutions?

So I was going to use Rain Clouds above my tower on the SP server to make it look like it is in permanent rain...but the game only has rain clouds rain like 10-15 blocks, which, in my opinion, completely defeats the point of them in large scale use.

Oh well. It's finished otherwise. Warning, the image is large.

The only suggestion I can think of is to make sure that the Hamachi network device isn't set to use IPv6. Also can try the other things suggested on that page after the generic "Install Hamachi!" stuff.

I also noticed the game can't render lots of "rain" / "waterfalls" on the screen at once. It seems that you'll either get both at half-assed, or one of the other with full force and the other not even loading.
My home on my 1.2 map had both rain clouds and waterfalls and most of the time the rain clouds wouldn't even display rain so I just axed the waterfalls.

That would explain why it's limited. Still, it would have been nice if I could have put my tower under perpetual rain/snow.

On another note I unlocked Hard Mode on my 1.2 map, so I went on my old Main to check out the Hard Dungeon and I proceeded to get 4-shot by the Paladin. 100+ touch damage is pretty crazy lol.

Sooo........ get Warding on all accessories to not die so badly? Or is Warding kind of moot when other affixes are better?

That paladin is one of the hardest enemies in the game. You could have 100 defense and he can still hit you for triple digits. The idea is to spot and pin him immediately before he can begin tossing those hammers (which home in on you and ignore walls, by the way.)

Probably. My old character has 4% melee damage on everything. I wouldn't be surprised if HM Dungeon is essentially the absolute endgame and requires the better gear past Hallowed.

The solution was to disable VPN altogether. That worked for me.
