MapleStory 2, welcome.
Looks more like a scroll than a spell book.

The Google translated text actually called it a "Hall/Hole" and "Code". Maybe "Spell Book" is more of a loose term.

But why do we need to see up her skirt... Tongue

Heterochromia Iridum *-*

And yea now that upskirt is just blatant ugh. Also poor design choice with the poofy sleeves considering it seems to give her swollen Popeye-tier forearms.

With how these artworks are getting more and more sexualized, Maple its self is going to get Southperry in trouble with Google again, isn't it?

I think the Berserker was far more suggestive, this one, even with the upskirt, simply looks like a diaper on a baby. I always enjoy a bit of suggestion and I got none of that from this, it is aesthetically unpleasing, it might be the proportions or the angles, but like I said, this looks like a baby in a diaper.

Really? I just thought the Berseker was hella cool.

Maybe I should go take a closer look. o.O

They've gone beyond chibi, to baby fat.

The proportions on that image are just awful.

I hope that's not representative of in-game characters. It just looks so terrible.

it might be because of Final fantasy: war of the lions, but i don't mind the puffy sleeves.

those legs are BLOATED though.

So the archer is a shaved baby gorilla with an eye pigment disorder?
For the love of god...

I also wonder why they feel the need to copy the starting class set up from a million other mmorpgs instead of going for something that can set the game apart.
There is something wrong when the classes of the new game are more generic than those of the first one that is more than a decade older.

Seriously? We know nothing about gameplay which is the only thing that actually differentiates the game from others. Complaining about classes that are fundamental to the MMO genre is a silly argument right now.

To be fair, at least they're going for root basics and going for something familiar, rather than pulling out some gimmick BS they've already done in the past game.

Because they are leaving a format where they have reigned absolute supreme for a decade. They are going up against hundreds of games that have similar art style and almost identical classes. I seriously doubt that they will surprise us and do something brand new when it comes to mechanics, so how will they make people interested?
Veterans from MS would have to be complete arse hats to throw themselves into it with nothing but the utmost sceptisism, and for people that never played the first the name itself wont do much to catch their eye. Just look at the travesty that is Ragnarok 2.

I do agree that it is too early to draw any final lines, but hell if it looks promising.
