High Leveled Content

SaptaZapta Wrote:No. It needs to be 200 to give people motivation to get to 200, and to keep level 200's interested.

Throughout the game, people want to level up because they want the next skill, the next set of equips. They want to get stronger. They want to be able to beat bigger and badder bosses.
At 180, none of that is relevant. You have all your skills, pretty much. You're wearing your endgame gear. You can fight any boss. The only way to get stronger is to pour more money (real world or from merching) into your gear. Leveling up is pointless.

But if you knew that level 200 gives you not just a 4% area buff and a fat flightless dragon mount, but access to "the bonus stage"? The exclusive dungeon with special enemies (as people have described above) dropping extra special level 200 goodies, like say a potion that makes you immune to seduce one time? You bet you'd have motivation to get to 200, and after you're there you'll have motivation to keep playing.

from experience, people STILL want to get to 200, every single 190+ person i've met is training their ass off for some weird reason, and when i ask them why, they can't answer me.

it's weird i tell ya (personal experience)

Yes, but for every self-motivated grinder, there is someone (or two, or five) who quit somewhere between 160 and 200 because "there's nothing more to look forward to". This is especially true of level 200's. Some start another char, some just leave Maple, feeling they've experienced all it has to offer.
Right now, Nexon is concerned with stopping more people from leaving for this reason (and maybe getting some to come back). And I feel that, more than "something to do at 180", they need that big prize at the end of the course.

Personal opinion, of course.

nah, i understand it completely, in fact the people i refer to are much like this, ask rykirioku i think was the name in SP xD

they grind and grind, get to 200, and it suddenly hits them: i can't grind anymore, i can solo mostly anything, there's nothing to do!
i stopped at 190, maple is mainly a huge chat program for me at this point, and my merching skills are the kind of skills you wish on your mortal enemy.

I'm 196 and I would love to get to 200 just because it's an achievement. However, what really bars me isn't motivation so much as the mind-numbing boringness of repeatedly PQing and Strongholding to get those last couple of billion exp. I want something that isn't so damn boring; it doesn't have to be fast exp, it just needs to be not boring.

Hit level 200 and cash shop costs 30% less only for that specific character.

It's pretty awful nowadays with everyone and their grandmother running around in full Rising Sun and the 130 set. I literally jump down and die in three seconds. Not to mention the lag issues. I used to actually like PvP and did it daily, but... gah.

It costs less to play dress up, trust me, it's what every mapler genuinely wants Rolleyes

Release a boss pq that's like dojo but without the dojo limitations, get X number of coins, use coins to get REALLY good bosshunter gear, which unlocks a whole new continent where everything even a snail can kill you, by completing all the quests (such like ToT) grants you a medal that can break through weapon defense up/damage reflect, avoid seduce 100% of the time and make maplestory easy mode forever.

Oh and you get a strawhat

Little unfair to Adventurers who could simply have a level 200 and buy everything on that and CS-xfer it to other adventurer characters, But i'd be ok with this change.

I think that's why he said specific character. there are items that cant be transfered to other chars even if they're cash shop items...

maybe they could just transfer the item directly to character's cash shop tab

Honestly I want Nexon to come up with something thats challenging and requires people to work together. Something like at certain intervals a boss puts up a certain symbol that only 1 class can attack it, every other class dies, it changes randomly from 10 seconds to a minute, etc. I dunno, probably not the greatest idea but I just woke up haha. I just want a reason to log on this game again, I miss when Zakum was a 10 man affair at the least, and slowly as everyone got stronger we could take a person less, etc. 1 party Zak runs in mid 2009 were SO MUCH FUN. Now its.... solo in 3-4 minutes? what fun is that?

I think if we do start to get new super bosses (like Pink Bean when it was still new) there should be a 'boss hunter portal' or something which connects all worlds to make it easier to search for an expedition. I'd love to be able to do 18-24-30 person boss runs again but I don't think it'd even be possible in some of the smaller servers. Have single character loot as well, rather than everyone seeing the same drops.

Thats SUCH a money idea. I've been to 5 different servers in 4 years, it'd be super chill to drop in and boss with some people in Demethos, Kradia, Zenith, etc again. the single character loot is something that hasn't been suggested either, very cool.

I just want a new boss thats not so easy that it dies within a minute solo, nor is it so hard that it takes a full party of max damage mercs to kill. I'd like something soloable/killable in a small group, rather than it being an achievement just getting people together for it(cough 65 heal empress).
Something I would personally like would be a high level pq.
Visitor pq gets a lot of nostalgia that makes it better than what it is, but atleast when it came out, it was a challenge that required a lot of coordination and teamwork.(the 120+) I'd like to see a new pq like this(level 190+?), with maybe less people than cwkpq but more than a normal pq. As of now, any new piece of content that comes out is easily soloable(by me anyways), which makes the game quite boring for me.

The last time I really felt like a new piece of content was fun and exciting was pvp last summer. I pvped the pomegranate out of myself, and really enjoyed the sense of seeing familiar faces in pvp and competing with them. I had some goals, and I felt like it was fun trying to achieve them, instead of an endless grind like everything's in this game. I also made a lot of money from it that first week, due to everyone being lazy as poop to get emblems, and making crafted items worth bills.

Level 185 boss

Neutral to all, but physical and magic resistance

2,100,000,000 hp. Heals 10m per 4 seconds. You MUST go in with a full party of 6 or more.

90 PDR/MDR. Only ignorable with skills.

30k magic, 30k attack

Small, movable boss like PB, but 80 speed and cannot be rushed.

If you attack it more than 30 times, he does an explosion skill that poison fogs the entire map for 2k per tick

A move that puts acid on the floor. 10 dmg per 50 ms. Avoidable by not touching on the floor.

A teleport move that teleports toward you and does an explosion that knocks you back.

No DR, no stun, no magic or weapon cancel, no seduce.

Does a slash with long range. Leaves you paralyzed(as in slow attacks and movement) @ 50% rate. 3k damager per tick.

Does full map attack that gives you a stick debuff. 10k per tick.

A poison attack which shoots like a laser, but its a ball of poison. 5k per tick if hit.

A summon move that summons a bio-bomb.

10m hp. 50 PDR & MDR. Boss flagged If you get in close it explodes. Knocks you back, does 10k damage fixed. Does a poison fog around it which is a 4k
per tick if in the fog. If it just dies, it does a 5k per tick fog. 3 also spawn on their own in random areas of the map

A buff that brings him to 60k attack and magic attack.

No time limit. No revives.

Drops primal essences at 10% rate. Confusion fragments at 15%.

Has his own pirate set. Better than empress. No guns. Has scrolls that drop that are 7 m/wattack for weapons, and 6 stats for armor. 300 hp for accessories. No boom rate. And weaker counterparts for 50% rate. Tradeable, obviously.

Drops fearless recipes. Drops abyss weapons. Has fearless nebulites that are for fearless items only, with S rank stats.

All i can think of as a boss right now. I think i forgot some stuff.

Idk. Back in the day, everyone had to deal with 10k touch Papulatus, 10k touch Scarlion, 10k touch Zakum3, and 10k touch Bigfoot.

We need more 10k touch bosses lol.

Back in the day 10k would have been 1hko, but now 10k isn't even that much with all the %HP gear.. I've got 12k HP base (granted, I'm a Shadower, but should be the same if I was a Night Lord anyway) and I've only added the leftover AP from maxing LUK into HP (~23 points).

I like the idea of attacks that 1 hit kill that are avoidable though. Arkarium's 100k damage hit is ridiculous unless you're a Phantom or Evan and can Shroud/Blink to to other side of the map to avoid it. I'd like to see a boss that does something like an earthquake attack that would 1 hit kill anyone standing on the floor of the map, but the map has 'safe spots' that you can snipe from for ranged characters for example.

Sort of like the Metroid levels on Super Smash Bros, the floor rises up with lava and you have to go onto the tiny platforms at the top to stay alive. Maybe critical hit rate could be increased on those platforms or something. To make it even more interesting even those platforms could fall away so you'd have to pay attention to what you're doing throughout the fight. Would work well for multi-part bosses that have a stationary phase imo.
