With those two points in mind, I think it would be safer trying to get the needed books now rather than wait
to see how things go with chaos.
I agree that even if mastery books deflate it'll be so little to even be noticeable, but what I think would help deflate mastery books even if its just by a bit is that you could go to X map which is a good farming place and just farm for mystery books, and if they do have a equal chance of turning out to be any book all those farmed mystery books are in potential MW30s.

From what I hear, it was something about her needing to go find some special source of power so that she could strengthen her knights (or something). She found it, but it turned out to be a trap and the Dark Mage corrupted her and her knights.
You can take that vague explanation with a grain of salt though, since I'm playing GMS and haven't seen the quest dialog yet.

I'd even say splits are better because even when one runner already has every drop he needs he's not wasting his time running. In my group people get annoyed if you don't take your split.
That way is much slow and pointless in my opinion. You go on the runs so you don't have to buy the item for. czak for example I know some people who would charge like 300m to loot a helm and they would sell helms for like 500 or 600 they bring like 10-15 people the splits are only like 27m. You would be waiting weeks to get the money from splits to pay for the damn helm. When you could have run twice everyday(or ever other day) and gotten everyone who wanted a helm in your run within the week. It's not a waste of time for the empress either last time I checked you don't bring every single class to this for example a wand might drop all your mages use staffs. Go ahead and sell it for splits in that same run a sword might drop give it to someone who needed a sword.

Rarity alone will easily make it worth 2bil+.
In my experience with timeless, being in the first group to bring any timeless anything into Khaini (other than that stupid box drop event during evan release), even claws weren't going for 2b+. If it's a good level 140 weapon i'll put it at a solid 1.3b. Less used weapons and normal gear I can't see reaching above 1b.

Because just giving an item to a runner is, in fact, wasteful. The purpose, as I understand boss runs, is to mutually make money and boost up the group of runners. Within those two goals, which interlap, comes many other benefits that I won't bother addressing. Just giving a sword to a runner, how do you decide which runner? What if that runner booms it on a 90% pot scroll? Do they get another? How is that fair to the other runners? What about buying it for a discount after they've shown their dedication to the runs? That's why we do it our way. It also gives the market time to react to the new items so we can decide how much to sell to runners.
Keep in mind, runs aren't free. Especially as the group is just figuring out how to kill her. KMS PB is different from GMS PB. There's a learning curve. The probability of KMS CE being different from GMS CE is noticeable, and worth taking into consideration.

However, if you insist on going into the details, let's.
Reasons Timeless claws wouldn't go for 2bil:
- Barely better out-the-box than Reverse.
- Untradable once equipped.
-
Timeless equips also aren't part of a set, meaning that you can just grab the weapon and never even consider getting another item from the series.
Really though, my point was that potential profit per item will never be higher than when the boss is first killed.
Delving any deeper into it is just stupid.

I stated that already lol.
I still stand by my claim that these 140 gear won't easily go for 2bil+, I highly doubt even the weapons will go for more than just over 1b.

I'm aware runs aren't free but they aren't exactly bank breaking either. Do people even use apples anymore? As for who gets what when Thats what the whole point system was for. If they get it and boom it with a 90% oh well so sad too bad get to the end of the line in the meantime heres some money from equips none of us need or we already got them. The way its being done now sure people get paid every step of the way but in terms of getting said equip your going to be waiting a while to gather up that 1.3b(which could have been spent scrolling the damn weapon or equip) from day one getting stronger and just selling everything else. The way you all are doing it now is just inefficient. instead of using them money you get from the runs to upgrade yourselves your using it to buy said equips then you gotta do more runs to get more money to scroll the thing which just takes longer.
As for the market You know as well as I do you marty's and maybe one other group will be doing this at all meaning you can practically price them at whatever the hell you want.
Boss runs are only expensive because you make them that way you want apples arrange guild apqs or set up a guild fund meaning use splits from otehr runs(for example 10 people go to the run split the profits 11 ways the 11th would go into a guild vault which you would use to buy apples(if you chose to instead of apq) or but the items out the fm you need for pre quest It's the way I set my runs up. And the people who come to these events to help the boss runs along because as you said there's a learning curve your not gonna go in on the first day and clean house there will be failures. those who stay through the failed runs who come to the guild apqs to gather appels who donate to the guild fund to help with prequest items. Those people are dedicated to the runs and they shouldn't have to pay for the damn equip just because some people are too damn lazy to help out

No, they aren't bank breaking, but there's also nothing wrong with wanting to maximize the profit margin out of the runs. Back in December when we were the first to kill PB, we were selling our MW30's for the cheapest you'd see on the market and the reverse items were dramatically underpriced, cheaper than you see now even with all the hackers farming. Because holding onto something to get the absolute highest that <1% of the market is willing to pay is actually less profitable than selling for what 2% of the market is willing to shell out for.
The reason, I think, that you're saying the way we're doing things, or used to do things, is inefficient is because you're assuming the same baseline price for all items. Back during the large HT squad runs the items were standardized, mw20/30, TT30, Zerk30 and Gen30. Equips, afaik, weren't a big issue. If a shiner bow dropped, i'm pretty sure they were just given to a runner or sold for like 30% of it's worth. During PB, no one wanted the reverse so that wasn't an issue, and the MW30 was standardized and we had the set price for runners of a couple runs, but everyone could use it. No variation.
Empress is totally different. We're now talking about individual equipment, which isn't standardized. Claws are more expensive than BW's. But is it fair for someone to earn a weapon with less runs than another person? I don't really think so. What if the weapon is way below? Does that count? Say the gear that dropped is 2 lines or 3 lines, is that extra? There are all these extra variables that would make assigning credits a lot more difficult and undoubtedly some people would feel like they were getting the short end of the stick. This is avoided by giving everyone their splits for the sales and when you earn enough, you can buy for a discount if you're contributed enough.

I used to think that too but I organized PB for a while and it's not the case. Having 10 mw30's is great, selling them is different. Reverse is more applicable. Timeless as well. We could've put the daggers and overalls up for 200m like you'd see when someone makered them but instead, in the interest of actually selling them in a timely fashion, we put them up for 70ish and 30-50 for the overalls. Keep in mind that the runners are putting their money into these runs for apples and wheels if the crashers mess up or whatever, sh'it happens lol, and as the host you want to get your runners their splits. Leaving items up for sale for two weeks because someone at some point will come along and buy them isn't cost efficient.
Yes, we run with apples and wheels. Those aren't free. While it's possible to do the run without apples, using them makes the run far more productive, especially when we're doing double runs because people don't have all the time in the world. Again, it's an issue of being cost efficient. Getting a guild pot for apples and wheels is a great idea that i've considered a little but I don't find it practical. Not everyone is married, not everyone runs, not everyone is available for the runs that wants to come, not everyone is invited, what if someone's donated a lot more than others, is there a reward for that person? Mandatory donations if you want to go on the run? And for those that aren't in the guild?
It's a great idea but in practicality it's more difficult when trying to trim the edges of the runners and get the most refined and efficient squad.

If they are dedicated, they get this fancy discount and they get to come on the run. I'll refer back to pb as I feel it's the most applicable. In the month of off and on runs I helped organize, all the consistent runners made upwards of 2b. And that's not including the 4+ mw30's and 5 RoT's and a good dozen or more reverse equips that were on a mule that got hacked. I personally gave up 8xxm of my own splits to try and make up for that lost mule that I earned in subsequent runs. So you should be able to see that there's enough money to buy the equip if we get things streamlined. Keep in mind that we're not milking runners for cash, a 1b equip would be sold to a runner for 400m or so I anticipate. That's easily affordable after a couple runs.

The same things can be said of paying for the item what if it booms? what if its below or 2 lined half of that stuff you cant even know until your using it.
As for the guild thing it works quite well most of the things you brought up aren't a problem. The way your talking about donating is just breeding comptition which is dumb its a group effort everyone going on the runs knows right from the start "hey I'm getting the items I want and making money at the same time" as for people donating different amounts that can simply be discussed.
Since this is the empress were talking about its not only weapons that drop its overall shoes capes everything setting up who loots what is as simple as asking what item do you want most not everyone is gonna want the weapon right off the back some might want the gloves or cape. Since they are different equips there are times when nobody wants anything that drops say a spear drops and all your drks use only polearms(or better yet they have the 130 polearm already) simply sell the spear an xbow drops you don't have any MM or WHs with you sell it.
As for the selling of equips it takes time your way someone might be waiting a while to get splits so they can buy the weapon and you've done 2 or 3 runs but nothing has sold yet. Since this is something new being introduced into the market don't it to sell quickly. My way you get what you want and you just play the waiting game for things you want to sell while everyone on your run is happy with their new equips.
As for people not being married for apple farming Your telling me with all the cash you spent on cubes you all of a sudden cant come up with 13k nx to get married so you never have to pay 15m every other day(or how every often you run again). Again that's on you for people not having time If you have time to go do the boss run you can take 15 mins out of your day to apq with your guild or friends. You take a few hours outa the day to do double PB runs why cant you include apq into that?
This isn't about it being practical its about you not wanting to do it

The Great One Wrote:The same things can be said of paying for the item what if it booms? what if its below or 2 lined half of that stuff you cant even know until your using it.
Booming is irrelevant. Here's why. Standard price for the item if it's unpot, again at a great discount. 2 line: standard price. 3 line: standard price. However, it's actually the loot that we're selling when we used to need actual groups for czak instead of current duos or trios. If the looter gets a 3 line, fantastic, they really got their money's worth! These 140 equips are tradeblocked until usage of a cs item right? So it'd be the same issue.

I'd say that comes down to what's best for the individual vs what's best for the group. Sure, it's better for the individual to get first pick on items that drop that they may want, but that's actually not better for the group. It's better for the group to get cash from the runs so they can fund themselves in other matters, and everyone is standard. Everyone gets paid the same amount and can do with it whatever they want; be it save up, spend it on a discounted drop from a run, spend it on repotting apples or whatever, it's their money. But the priority is getting runners the money from the run in a timely manner, and in a way that doesn't rip us off. As a host to some of the pb runs we did, the last thing I want to do is rip off those i'm running with. So to know where the market stands is absolutely pertinent to giving the runners the best deal on an item from the run, and that cannot be known until items have entered the market and been sold at a consistent, or fairly consistent rate.
The Great One Wrote:As for the selling of equips it takes time your way someone might be waiting a while to get splits so they can buy the weapon and you've done 2 or 3 runs but nothing has sold yet.
Yes, this is true. But none of the runners I run with would prefer to pay significantly more than they could if they just wait a week or two. If I sell that runner the item for much less than I should considering the market and standard price, then other runners might get frustrated and lose faith in me unless I give other super discounts, and those discounted paid mesos don't go to me mind you, they go out as splits to the other runners. So severely underselling to a runner actually hurts everyone that gets splits.
The Great One Wrote:Since this is something new being introduced into the market don't it to sell quickly. My way you get what you want and you just play the waiting game for things you want to sell while everyone on your run is happy with their new equips.
Lol, I think I know the process of bringing in new equips and valuable items to the market and creating a new market for said items better than you, and I assure you my way works out quite well, and there is no reason to change it. Everyone benefits my way, I just allow flexibility for buyers to react. I think you're forgetting that as the host of runs like this, it is not only in my best interest, but also my goal to make the runners as rich as quick as I can. Finding the balance between speed of sale and price of item is variable depending on who you ask, but keep the previous sentence in mind when you think about it.
The Great One Wrote:As for people not being married for apple farming Your telling me with all the cash you spent on cubes you all of a sudden cant come up with 13k nx to get married so you never have to pay 15m every other day(or how every often you run again). As a matter of fact, I don't have 13k nx. I didn't cube all my gear. And i'm not super rich. Your sentiment is one I hear from a lot of low levels and i'm quite surprised to hear it from someone like you, that's been around for a while and is a fairly high level. All high level players aren't rich. Do you know how much top of the line gear costs? Not a single item i'm wearing on my character is under max mesos, most of it is actually over 3b in value. Where do you think those mesos come from? I can tell you how it worked for me: boss runs. The mesos I make from bossing goes right back into gear. To upgrade my gear is extremely expensive. It takes a while to save up.
I can also deduct that you don't organize many runs. Getting all the players that said they'll come to a run, actually together, isn't an instant thing. People being late, not having their quests done, not showing up at all, is extremely frustrating and unfortunately common. And when streamlining the run to be as efficient as possible, each person is invaluable. I guess you're lost sight that runs consist of people, and people are inconsistent. It's hard enough actually getting a double run done, and that's without us even going anywhere. Doing a double run AND APQing would be an insane hassle. You just don't seem to understand.

That seems quite accurate.
But also, both of you, in case you want to know, need to know how to be practical when it comes to posting. I mean, you are just dominating the whole thread, making massive walls of text nobody is gonna bother reading except you two.
Can you guys try to be just a little be more... Precise? Because if each of you is gonna analyze paragraph per paragraph, and you take two paragraphs per each of them, it's going to get exponentially bigger as posts keep going. It gets quite annoying.

I started tl;dr'ing their posts when they started arguing whether or not it's financially worth farming the equips. >_>
I know some people that want me to try running with them when it comes out, whether or not we actually start to kill it regularly winds up being a matter of how easy it is to survive. Not if we can ???? profit en masse.

Lol.
Well you do it your way if that works for you that's fine however my way gets what your trying to do done faster people are still getting paid even if someone is looting an equip that part you seem to be forgetting.
I've lead more if not the same amount of boss runs you have and believe me I know all of the variables that go into it The way I do it you don't have many people showing up without their quest done as we do them as a group a few days before. Sometimes they don't show or something comes up we go again either earlier in the day of the run(if possible) or a few hours before the run starts before. As for people coming to apq for one who said the apq had to be on the same day? It could be days before since they are people you can talk to them find out how many can go at say Monday night 7 pst and the run is Wednesday. For HT with plate collections I'm sure most people have lower lvl chars they play and ores dropped plenty its a simple matter of refining those. It's just a matter of finding when people are on and can come we all have a life outside of this game. All I ask for is for you to give 15-20 minutes out of the day we do the said apq to help out. You make it seem like a chore last time I checked this is a game the minute this game becomes a chore is the minute I delete this game off my computer
As for the not having nx that's bull with all the mesos you get from your run simply buy it off someone. I know that most high lvls aren't rich Hell I'm broke myself have been for most of my time playing maple Yet I manged to get some decent equips buy some nx off people to get a few things. I'll say it again its not that its not practical you just don't want to and that's fine your way works for you and your people mine works for me and my people.

Thankfully, Nexon seems to have come to their damn senses when it comes to items that require Scissors to trade.
I just wish that they would roll this new rule onto old items...
That way I could go get my noobs Zhelms without spending a dime.

If all of your items are worth more than max mesos, you're "super rich", and arguing otherwise is just plain stupid.
Putting all your money back into equips is a choice.
His argument is that you could just as easily have used that money to get married, and, for once, he's quite correct.
Ps. White Wrote:All high level players aren't rich. ^That doesn't mean what you meant to say.

Can you guys try to be just a little be more... Precise? Because if each of you is gonna analyze paragraph per paragraph, and you take two paragraphs per each of them, it's going to get exponentially bigger as posts keep going. It gets quite annoying. While I agree that responses don't always need to be point by point (or even address every point), there is always the simply option of not reading them.
Besides, the only reason they're dominating is because no one else is saying anything.
I mean, I've read all of their posts; there's just not any point to discussing things as deeply as they've begun discussing them.
But, yeah, some of their arguments have already gone full-circle and been previously addressed.

Ah, I can always count on you Viaje to point out insignificant semantics.
Yes, my gear is expensive. Does that make me rich? Depends on how you define rich.

Rich - 1. Having a great deal of money or assets; wealthy. Equips are an asset; you're rich.

I love people who come into a thread for no reason and have nothing of any value to add other than trying to prove someone wrong.

He has a point though. If by any chance you decide to sell any wealth you have, you happen to get the mesos back.
Of course, market prices make that hard to tell exactly, but yeah, you can technically say you can get income even if it's stripping yourself.

We can't forget on what people consider "wealthy" or "rich", because of the massive influx of mesos that is in the economy. I mean some decently scrolled unique status equips can go for 10+ billion mesos, which is absurd in every way. Max mesos can barely afford you a 15% stat item nowadays.
