God Eater Burst general discussion

"New Moon in the Welkin" is a challenge mission that you MUST complete alone. It goes like this: You start off facing a Dyaus Pita in the church section of City of Mercy with a Prithvi Mata wandering around outside somewhere. At the 2, 5, 10 and 20 minute marks, another Prithvi Mata will spawn somewhere (for a grand total of 1 Dyaus Pita and 5 Prithvi Matas). In other words, you get more and more pineappleed as the mission drags on.

Oh, if it's an optional challenge mission, then I don't think I did that one yet. Hmm. Yeah, I don't recognize that at all <_<

Phew. Managed to clear "Live Prey" on my 3rd try (with 1 respawn). Really had to play it safe for this due to fears of running out of stamina or getting hit unguarded.

Managed a SS+ using Laoyang II :x

What I did was...

Regular pattern
dash in -> hit 3 times -> block

If Dyaus Pita jumps vertically after the hits, dodge away.

If Dyaus Pita uses the electric orb barrage, aim block diagonally backward so that character will be propelled toward Dyaus Pita and away from the rest of the orbs.

If Dyaus Pita starts making electric orbs orbit around him, run toward the side and wait for the orbs to stop in front of him before performing regular pattern.

If Dyaus Pita pounces, dodge away and check if he performed a quick turn or is stuck in delay. For the former, wait for an opening. For the latter, perform regular pattern.

Never stay directly in front of Dyaus Pita when he's at a distance in case of backflip orb shot, which may deplete stamina fully if blocked.

That's all I can think of...

As you can see, my strategy requires Expand Guard Area. You might want to add in Prepared just in case.

Hmm. I'll look into that then, thanks! Also:

Using a Paige's final-upgrade, I almost have it, the current one I have is 370 Pierce, I think. Next upgrade is 500 Pierce. Going to try getting the maxed upgrade of the Kougou Cannon for "All Out Attack" too.

Well, that's one possibility...

Anyway, just cleared all Challenge Story Missions...and what the hell.

Eric (Older Model/Long-Range) - Magnificently revived, just for mankind.

Just how obnoxious can this guy get? I hated his guts from the very first (and last) time he appeared in a cutscene, and now his description is just as obnoxious as he is. Ugh.

So wait, you get him from clearing all of the Challenge Story missions? lol . . . . . -_-

I'm really taking my time at this point, because I'm trying to get most end-game equipments. Uhh, I have Arda Nova's equipments all maxed. So I have the final form for the gun (the one that does Divine dmg), longsword, and shield to their final upgrade. I'm working on my Laoyang/Chi-You + Borg Camlamn equipments right now, ugh.

Yeah, you do. The final Mission ("Watch Out Overhead" - An obvious dig at Eric regarding how he died) has you up against a Fallen Cocoon Maiden (Blaze), Fallen Cocoon Maiden (Spark), Vajratail (Blaze), and a Vajratail (Spark). The only party members you can bring along are Soma and Eric; emulating the only cutscene Eric ever appears in.

Take your time; there's really no rush. I'm done with Laoyang; just need an Yin-Yang Ambrosia to max out Laoyin. Ugh.

One mission I really hate is "Monochrome"; your team is pitted against Hannibal and Corrosive Hannibal, at the same time. Then you get another mission later on ("Black Ore"), which has you fighting Dyaus Pita followed by Corrosive Hannibal. Good luck to you if you do not manage to kill Dyaus Pita before Corrosive spawns. =.=

Yeah, I hate Dyaus the most right now. I think there might have been a quest where I had to fight two different Hannibals before at the same time (forgot..), but it wasn't too bad. Hannibals are pretty easy for me. I just hate Dyaus Pitas. -_______-

When it comes to Hannibal, I aim for the head or bracer most of the time. Usually, I'll just aim for the head. If it breaks, I aim for the 'arm' part right after.

That would be the "Anantaboga" mission; Corrosive spawns only after Hannibal dies in this mission. For "Monochrome", however, both of them spawn right at the start. Ugh.

Dyaus Pita is a royal pain in the rear for the most part. I have no idea why I had so much trouble facing him in "Live Prey" when I miraculously survived in "New Moon in the Welkin" with all my Restore Pill IIs and Stun Grenades depleted. :x

I think they up'd his HP in Live Prey, or his HP was near 50-75% of regular HP. Usually in missions that there's multiple Aragami, I noticed that it's easier to kill them. Right now, the two easiest types for me to kill:

a) Gboro Gboro types
b) Hannibals

I have trouble with the Vajra type monsters. >_> Well, no. Vajra is easy, anything after that is annoying. I can't stand anything that jumps a lot (YEAH YOU, DYAUS PITA).

Anyway, second-to-last mission was fun. VS Borg Camlann and Aether, with lots of continuously spawning Cocoon Maidens all over the damned place. The only two NPCs you can bring in are Annette and Federico. =.=

Oh yeah, Eric's abilities are kinda okay...

Charisma
Coward
(What's the point of this?)
Presence
Noisy
(wtp at both. Ugh.)
Wrath of Revenge
Oracle Up M
Oracle Up L
(Cool.)

Kinda makes me wonder what the Japanese players were thinking when they put that up on the JP wiki. Charisma and Coward cancel each other out...

Haha. Oracle Up M AND L? wtp. I didn't know those even stack . . .

I LOL'd at the notes. I translated it into English, and made some amendments. :p

Eric uses Blast, which is quite "valuable", so to speak. Thankfully, he also has a (slightly) better aim than Kanon.

Presence and Noisy make Aragami notice him. Very. Easily. Use him as a distraction. Muahaha.

^Now you know why the Ogretail came up out of nowhere and killed him in that cutscene; he just attracts too much attention.

Ok, beat all of the "story" challenge quests. Eric's lame as hell. Also, downed Dyaus Pita (the solo quest) in about '5' minutes using the method that I posted in this thread a while ago. I had 550 PIERCE, and that's with Pierce Up 3 (I think this was the equipment name..). F`ucked up Pita's arms and unbounded it in less than 20 seconds as soon as the mission started. He couldn't move the majority of the time.

Then the one with Pita & Hannibal was easy too. I killed Pita in about 3-4 minutes, and then Corrosive Hannibal would jump in. This quest wasn't hard, not as expected anyways.

Then the Hannibal + Corrosive Hannibal mission was a bit annoying, but not hard. I had to watch where I'm standing, and there both Hannibals are at all times. I tried to kill the Corrosive version first. I finished the quest in about 9 minutes.

*Looks at craftable Blades*

Let's see..."Rune Blade: Hagalaz". Looks good. Let's see...hmm. 2 more Aragami Crystal 19s. No biggie. Let's see which mission yields them...

..."Live Prey".

Alright. No problem, let's just kill this...

Just tried "Gboro-Gboro Panic", and it's pretty much impossible to clear.

Map: Church of Memories
Objective: Kill the 3 regular Gboros.

There will always be 4 Gboros in the room at the same time; 3 normal ones and 1 Golden OR Ice Gboro. Kill the fourth, and another hops in to take its place.

Stun Grenades are prohibited.

I swear it's impossible to clear this damned mission. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, no way to catch a breather.

Time for me to learn to use a Long Blade or Buster then...

You just have to craft an extremely powerful gun and shoot a laser that can 'pass' through all 4. That's the best way.

No need for a modded PSP. Just gotta buy a crapload of cables, but it shouldn't cost more than 30 bucks (average cost for a PSP game). I wanted to show off how fast I can kill Hannibals without resorting to bullet-spamming, haha.
