Related to topic, I think GMS is just going through a recession. It'll be in a boom again before we know it. Interesting point Stereo made with the spring hacking booms, I never noticed that pattern before.

Maple definitely isn't dying. As much as we might dislike Nexon, we still like the game and will continue to play regardless of things like getting locked out of accounts over the past weekend for having to change IPs to get around the IP ban. Also, most of maple's income comes from relatively newer players who are now being extremely pressured into buying nx with real money. For those that are saying you need to pay to have fun in maple, that's definitely not true. With the release of the MTS, buying nx with real money is basically the same thing as buying mesos now. Mesos and nx are both forms of virtual currency and are pretty much interchangeable. People who pay Nexon get the advantage of having more of this virtual currency, but that totally makes sense considering they're the ones making the game free for you, or vice versa. And that's all assuming the using the cash shop is a requirement to playing maple.

I give GMS a year, if they dont get re-stabilised by that time, then we are doomed.

But Im sure that the new jobs will gring them some money, hopefully enough to make the servers better

Hmm, well even though your argument is kinda dull, I have to agree because that has happened a lot recently in many MMOs But most high leveled players are NX hoars,

From what I see, Nexon has 2 big options

1.- Staying like this, geting new players often and loosing them more often because of the lack of good contnent
2.- Be as inovative as they were when they made places such as Masteria and Neo TOKIO thus atracting more payers of all ages

I'm never gonna go out and pay my own cash to get equips that are still sh'it.

Oh yeah? Try it in Scania. Lets see you get into HT even being an HP Washed, Level 200 NL. It's not about patience and hypocrisy, it's all about the connections.

SCG being crap? Facestompers too? This is such obvious hypocrisy... I don't even know what to say. And really, it just takes some merchanting or bossing to get the mesos you need to HP Wash and buy Pet Loots. You are most definitely correct about those not requiring money.

Maplestory is a waste of time that is not worth playing. All there is to it imo

Truth be told, I have to agree with Kevin. You cannot get in HT without having connections in Scania. I don't know about other servers, but here, only the top guilds and strongest will actually make it anywhere. Zakum back then was like that, but now, almost anyone can do it because Zakum isn't a big deal as it was.. oh say, 2 years ago. I'm a pretty beast Night Lord, but my HP is too low for the requirement for HT, so I still have yet to be able to HT. :/ I'm a guild that primarily Zaks/HT/etc too, lol...? Only way you can make Mesos easier is to join some of the bigger guilds out there. You can join smaller guilds that bosses, that works too. Take the easiest path to gain Mesos (or to get powerful), or take the long route. Optional.

You can EASILY maker a shoe that can surpass 2 att in stats.

You're right. Money is not required to play this game, but it's strongly hinted that you DO because of how Nexon is running the Cash Shop and how they distribute 'limited' equipments, etc. I'm not saying you need to pay money to be able to do some of the more grander things in this game, but it's the easiest route.. lol..

Yeah, it IS the easiest route, there is no doubt about it.
I'm just saying, this game is nowhere near unplayable without buying NX.

New players continue to flood in, unaware of the problems experienced players have dealt with. Nexon does enough to keep drawing new players instead of retaining old players that the game isn't likely do die any time soon.
