Anyone mind explaining Zipangu? Eek

Formosa (Taiwan) is the name the British gave them when it was under Brit control.

For Singapore's Ulu City, ulu is a malay word meaning abandoned, ruined, etc.

Interestingly, Zipangu looks to derive the same way as Taiwan does:

In it, he described the “Country of Gold”-ZIPANGU- Which was the first name given to Japan by Europe.

Really loving the English there. It's superb.

Formosa is actually portuguese for beautiful, which is what the portuguese traders called the island, and never was under British control. The only foreign country to control Taiwan was Japan.

I knew that about Zakum. I even made a character name spinoff from it.
Zakum->Zaqqum->Zaqqym->Zqym.
I've used it on my WoW charries for a while now.
