Just from the one gamestop store mw 3 has made $1,198,470 dollars already
Damn....that store's making out like bandits lol
I woke up this morning and had the displeasure to find that my online copy of MW3 is going to be released for play in 2 hours' time. Really Steam? F'uck your pre-ordering BS.

Thread title is being changed as of now due to the full release of MW3!
Lol. I got it last night also, there were a good 100 people at the Best Buy where i went. Fuckers must've have made a mint. Pretty good game so far, got to level 14 in multiplayer, then went to bed. I like how the user interface works and the snipers are pretty awesome. Silenced scar ftw.
Played some Singleplayer, played some Multiplayer. Feels exactly like MW2. While I am disappointed, I'm not necessarily disappointed in the purchase itself. I just probably won't be buying any DLC for this game.

Not any of the 20 pieces of DLC distributed over 9 months?

Went through more missions than I should've gone through today in Modern Warfare 3...
Initial impressions (Warning: Spoilers)
- Continuing from MW2, Russians continue to trash the East Coast. Now they are tearing up New York City, but Delta Force eventually helps to push them back to the water's edge, then force them out completely after hijacking a command submarine and turning its cruise missiles on the Russian fleet.
- TF141 - now a fugitive group - seeks refuge in a town in India, but Makarov's men had other plans.....oh and UGVs (Unmanned Ground Vehicles) are introduced here. Had a lot of fun wrecking pomegranate with it. Right now though, there's only 4 men left from TF141, joined by Nikolai's Loyalist allies.
- TF141 goes into Somalia to investigate some shady shipments, but the shipment got away in the nick of time.
- Makarov continues to be a massive troll, just like MW2. Sometimes he makes me go "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-"
- Russian presidental plane gets hijacked and forced down. Russian president taken hostage by Makarov.
- Russians continue to be massive dic'kheads by sending chemical "dirty" bombs into major European cities. London gets chemical bombed pretty hard. They then use this opportunity to stage a massive invasion into Central and Western Europe.
Some scenes will make you rage (FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-), and some scenes are quite disturbing (but not as bad as the "No Russian" level from MW2)
Loving the online so far so much action at first i wants used to it because of black ops, but loving it got it right after school and started playing once i got home, 3 hours or so of pure play time online .-. and lvl 34 ooooooooo yaaaaaa. Scar watergun and UMP seem to be wreaking and quickscoping feels epic.

Most of the user reviews are quite negative -- and that's from people that have bought the game.
And every review seems to say this, regardless of whether it's good or bad: it's the same as MW2. Some people love this. A lot of others think it's stale.
Saw a /v/idya thread yesterday about all of them making the ratings go so low. Although just as many people probly agree with the fact that the game sucks.
I did like the campaign, albeit it was short. I beat it in one sitting. After an ending like that, I don't think there's much room for another sequal. Storyline-wise, in any case. Multiplayer is essentially the same thing as MW2.

The entire game engine is reskinned MW2.
No wonder it's getting such horrible reviews and ratings.
Hm even though I didn't touch MW2 after MW3 crashed...that does explain a few crashes I had yesterday and today. I was kind of pissed because those crashes aren't the shyt I wanted. Heck, MW2 didn't even have those crashes (or very few). =\
Also...(spoiler alert)
Being a juggernaut temporarily is fking awesome.
Also I'm almost done with the missions. From the storyline I've seen, its definitely no sequel; Team Metal of Delta Force gets killed off in the Siberia diamond mine, which means there's no "passing the torch" from TF141 to Delta Force, as previously predicted by some people before release. Guess the Modern Warfare series is very much complete after MW3.

It's not even reskinned. Even the menus look the same.
I can understand using the same engine. But at least make a bit of effort making it look like a different game. Use a different font, different menu layouts, different icons, SOMETHING??
The multiplayer is still extremely fun though. More of the same of what you'd expect from call of duty. I can safely say I won't be touching my copy of BF3 ever again. L> more people to party with on PS3.
