How did you come up with your IGN and what's the story behind it?

My original IGN in maple left me with the nickname "Star" and my favourite colour is Azure-blue so voila -> AzureStar

My first (main) character has a very unoriginal IGN. I didn't put too much thought into it.

On the other hand, ThePQHealer is self-explanatory.

B7Mage (I/L Arch Mage): "B7" -> B& -> Banned/Band -> A nickname of my username at gameFAQs. "Mage" -> Yeahhhhh super creative. :p

AuroraGlow (Bishop): Honestly, I think I was just trying to find a name that sounded priest-like, and this is what I came up with. It might sound silly, but it grew on me. Even after quitting MS for three years (and counting), I still like it.

Heh.

cbdccb(insert-number): "ccb" is my initials in chinese. "cbd" was supposed to be something that my primary school friends called me "cb-disease" :\ although in Singapore CBD is known as the Central Business District...
1 is my Mechanic (mule), 2 is my BaM, 3 is my Sniper.

hadriel(insert number): As Diablo II players recall, he's the angel that stands by the gates of hell before one battles Diablo. Has a biblical reference actually, but I didn't know that until recently.
GMS: 1 is my Aran, 2 is a WH, 3 is an Infighter.

AshaManBE is from Asha'man from the books of the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. BE stands for Belgium. Back in the days alot of people had "NL" behind their name, for NetherLands (3th job wasnt out yet let alone 4th job so noone knew about Night Lords yet). To this day I still need to find someone with BE in their name too xD
Kamanshna is from the sims, they sometimes say it when they say goodby xD I thought it was funny. Apparently it means sperm in some language but I didn't knew that xD
ScientAsha = Asha (Everyone called me Asha on my mage) + Scient stands for Saint (cause hes a priest xD) and science, since I have a scientific mind
Waxwell is a pretty funny story actually xD I wanted a name that had something to do with lightning, being a thunder breaker. So I thought "yea Maxwell is a cool name", but that was taken, so I figured "hey the W upside down is an M" xD It wasnt till she was like level 60 till I noticed the name was pretty humorous xD
Ashathor = Asha + thor, the god with the hammer
Blashack = Black + Asha
Wellwaxed = Thought it would be nice with the "Waxwell's successor"-medal. :')

My IGNs started out as 'Krippled[classname]', as I'm crippled in RL, and crip is blocked, so I used a k.
Then I moved to using my name in my IGN, JustRob, UnLuckyRob, and such.

After that, I moved onto using Japanese words(translated by either Sam/Beg, another close friend, or using GoogleTranslate with the RomajiMonkey firefox app[the latter end up being 'incorrect' technically, but they still look nice]).

Rouzeki - Buccaneer - My first Japanese IGN(translated by Sam) meaning 'riot', cause brawlers tend to riot.
Kokotsu - Paladin - Translated by a ex 'cause I couldn't get a name for my character that'd be leveling with her. Means ecstasy apparently, quick wikipedia search shows it to be anyway.
Hiseturi - Dual Blade - RomajiMonkey product of 'beginning' in GoogleTranslate, new start of a thief class.
Aireki - Shadloller - RomajiMonkey product of 'sad (joyless)' in GoogleTranslate, matches up with how I really am, always joyless.
Utoi - BattleMage - Translated by Sam again, meaning 'distant (ignorant)'. I often ignore people, even if I don't mean to. Big Grin...

Yeah, my character IGNs all suck and have little-to-no real backstory.

Well, My first character was called "Alexrani" I've used that name in a few online games now
but after a few months/year(s) I thought I mite go back my Nickname from High school "BandanaBoy"
The dress code at my School really didn't allow us students to wear bandanas >..> go figure,
But I guess I got away with since My bandana was the school colors O.o (I'm assuming that was the reason, I really don't know. lol)
But I've also used that name for my Lead char in my online comics,

But I wasn't able to make a character on MS with that name D:
But if I'm every able to, I'll so grab it.
So at the moment I've just gone for a bit more Originality lol
Main Char: SpanerNworks (Mechanic) lvl 13x

HackWench based on Gadget Hackwrench from Rescue Rangers. Originally I didn't even plan to make a mechanic, then a discussion about mech IGNs popped up in the guild, one of my suggestions was "Hackwrench" to which a guildie commented that wench would fit me better. Turns out that it was available and now she has a permanent white tiger named Gadget as well.
Most of my others are anagrams of Scarlet: Celtras, Stracel, Telcars, Teslarc, etc.

Nutellar: Because I like nutella.
Tranquiliser: Just a random name I thought was cool :r
Beelz: Short for beelzebub (It's also the name of Stephen Lynch's song, and it's for my fire mage ;D)
Belphegor: One of my favorite bands.
Soniscape: Basically sonicscape spelled incorrectly.
Verewolf: Cause werewolves are awesome.
Wettness: I honestly have no idea where this came from. I was just looking for good IGN's and this came to mind. I was happy when I found out I could get it.

Aran HeIsinki

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helsinki

I live in Vantaa, but meh. Helsinki is more known and Vantaa is inside "Helsinki metropolitan area." Just 5-8kms from my home to the Helsinki border anyways (+ I go to the Visual Arts College there).

unfortunately some 20lvl in Bera had taken HeLsinki name, so I ended up with HeIsinki.

I'm happy with it, it's like American had a nick 'NewYork'. Okay... not the same, but you get my point here.

Bishop iSatellite

Comes from the official name of our first dog Zorro. Satellite was not free so I was lazy and added 'i' to the beginning.

All my characters have "Zero" in the name referring to a character I had made of the same name. His name is Zero as in he is/has nothing; an insignificant speck in the world or so he believes. He has the ability to change his skills by morphing his weapon. Ergo all of my characters could be seen to be as the same person. I.E. Masamune(form)Zero. Sort of why I don't like people referring to the "form" name. Enough prattel on the second name.

Masamune/Paladin - Legend of Masamune not cutting those undeserved of it.
Wagner/Evan - Dragon King Wagner from Odin Sphere, coincidently Mir is the Onyx Dragon King's son
Quarrel/Wildhunter - Crossbow bolt and has disputes with the Black Wings

Initially it was somewhat unoriginal lame combos of cool words like "ZealSamurai" and "WindFrenzy". Then I dived to names closer to my class function, like "GatlingPunch" and "HenTheRipper". Now, I still do class related names, but I also mix in punny or TVTropes themed names like "AnIcePaladin", "GatlingGood", and "AutoXBow".

My character names are usually related to things I liked or some other personal reference, my current characters have nothing of such since they were all made as a joke and then made into my mains.

-PedroWins, my F/P was just a joke name before I decided to really play it.
-IMNOTBR my xbow was/is a joke name from hating most brazilians on MMOs who go "oi br?" everywhere.
-EasyProduct my bandit was... Idk what.

Mine is started from my main....

Knight52, it's my steam account name. A few weeks after I start playing MS, I learned Knight is also a job name, so there came the following names.

Aran52
DualBlader52
Blazard52
Infighter52
WildHunter52
Priest52

Only my Evan, MarlboroLigh, didn't follow that trend. I actually wanted to name it MarlboroLight but it's too long. (I saw a char with cigarette name so I was like "that's a great name")

Neurovagus (158 Buccaneer)- Named after the Vagus Nerve. Was taking anatomy at the time I made that character so I felt it was appropriate.

Ihsahn41 (8x I/L mage)
- Ihsahn is one of my favorite metal musicians, and the 41 is from a dorm I lived in in college, "Dorm 41".

DrEbola (7x aran), EbolaXx (5x Dual Blade)- I just think the Ebola virus is fascinating. Glitter

My very old IGNs like "Excelion" were from searching neopet pound. LOL. I only went on cause sometimes they had nice names and I felt like stealing.

ThunderHail (which I changed to Excelion) - Kinda a stolen IGN. When I first started, a guy named "ThunderHail" was helping me pick out a right mage job and put my AP on the correct stats. So he adds me and next day and the continuing days, he doesn't log in. I realize I mess up my char and made "ThunderHail."

Now my KMS characters:
Distinctus - Stole from my old friend in Broa GMS. I was right in front of him when the GM "KremeChoco" banned him for hacking.
Samus아란 (Aran) - Made it up CAUSE IM SO CLEVER. And yes, it's an Aran
Galaxi - Tried to get the IGN "Galaxy" but it was taken. I got the name from a real popular hacker in GMS Broa (yes I stole a name yet again).
Valkne - Just made this up out of the blue
Septicore - Stole AGAIN. Got the name from buying a bishop from my friend. His mule had that IGN. It was either that or "Ophlox" I liked the name and all, but people kept thinking I misspelled "Oh plox"
Phairisity - Made up

Wow, never realized how much IGNs I really steal, lol.
