What we're some of your mistakes with MapleStory when you first joined?

My first real mistake? Joining Scania as my first server.

I once thought that putting AP into HP/MP when I leveled up (this was before I learned about AP washing) was a good idea.

My first high level character was an I/L wizard because I thought they were really powerful at bosses and such and lots of MP meant cheap training.

I made a high DEX warrior, 70 DEX. Dur hur hur unfundedness.

oh right i just remembered something.

On my 1st day 3 random people stopped by me while i was training. and just said "Noob."

I didn't know it was an insult so i responded "hi" each time ._.

I thought there was a secret to the Bigger Ben because a friend told me. I spent an hour or two trying to figure out the non-existent puzzle.

That's pretty much it. Maple wasn't my first MMO so I didn't start off being a total idiot, plus I started playing the game because my girlfriend at the time played so she showed me the ropes from the very beginning.

You call that high dex? My main, level 130 DrK, has 92 base dex and that's after I spent over 40 AP reset scrolls on moving DEX to STR. And it isn't even my first warrior, it's my third.

When in Scania, it's 4 DEX or bust. Stupid egotistical Scania.

joining/starting a new server everytime a new server came out

(started at bello then mardia then Kradia then Yell... figures there was no end so I went back and stayed in Kradia)

Thinking quests were a good way to earn EXP. Took me 3 years to level my bandit to 50 because of it.

Funny how things don't change, because quests still give dismal EXP. I thought that was supposed to change with BB?

I had a Mage in beta for about two hours. Equal stats. My magic attacks sucked.

I'd say my short experience during Beta might be a primary factor as to why Mages are probably my least favorite class category. At the same time, I didn't know anyone IRL that had an archer during beta, so when my cousins started playing MS about a year or two later and convinced me to return (none of them were Archers either, and Pirates didn't exist at the time), I made an Archer.

I became a Mage at level 15 because I lagged every time I went to Victoria Island on my garbage computer.
I stumbled upon a Mace at Green Mushrooms. Added STR so I could wear it. DEX too, so I could hit monsters with my weapon.
Equal spread into Energy Bolt and Magic Claw. Very little Magic Guard. I also had Magic Armor, because I liked it when it went 'ding' and I got all big.
Thought I was insanely rich when I had 100k.

Didn't play when the game came out of Beta because I really couldn't handle it with Scania's/Bera's population. Restarted in Broa as a sin.
Thought STR would boost my damage.
I would CRAFT EVERY CLAW @ JM From Da Streetz. As in spend hours farming the mats to craft, just to have the claw be obsolete 5 levels later because I would insist on having the best.
Spent a whole lot of time showing off my extremely pro Wooden Tops and Mokbis.
Got stuck in El Nath trying to be cool. At least I maxed Dark Sight instead of Nimble Body.

Restarted in Windia with all my real like friends. Finally got my stuff right with my Bandit. Still maxed Dark Sight instead of Nimble Body.

My biggest mistake was starting maplestory in the first place. DAMN YOU, RETROSPECT

Oh Sarah, as much as you hate it, you have met such amazing people.

I added into INT and HP as an Assassin.
I thought I needed to buy a Cash shop glove to throw stars, so I did. It didn't throw stars.
Spending money on nx.

Thinking Maple had nice people in Scamia. 5/9 people there tried to scam me :r, then I went to Windia for a while and had for a while.

Thinking Broa had decent, civilized people
Adding AP and SP equally as a Mage
Not knowing you could use storage to transfer items between characters
Trying to transer items across servers through storage
Spending hours trying to find Dark/Black crystals to forge the Dark Savant
Thinking I was pro when I made my first million mesos
Thinking a Spiegelman Necklace was so incredibly pro
Crying when I misspent that first 1 million
Solely doing PQs to level 70 (At the time I thought they were faster, in reality they weren't but I just didn't want to grind)

To this day, people come up to me and say "I remember you from LMPQ!"

tl;dr: I miss LMPQ and pineapple Broa.

Ended up missing and frustrated, became a 119 dex Crusader.
Didn't Max HP Increase, eventually ended up at Lv. 103 or something. Added AP to HP. Freeloaded a buttload of NX for SP resets just to get Max HP Increase maxed.
Then eventually got a Zakum Helmet somehow. Worst time spent, ever. The character ended up in Bera, and then deleted. Because Nexon dislikes character slots sometimes. -cries in a corner-
And yes @ Stupid Scania. I was called a noob and insulted all over.

Also kept buying Subis, npcing them, and buying more, because I didn't see the recharge button.

Favorite answer so far. Myself; I started as an assassin and later quit it as I found them ludicrously boring which of course had its stats were naturally messed up with str & int. at some theif items giving/requiring Str.
Should've thought more about what I wanted to do in the game before starting...helping others namely.

i thought mapleSEA was global because SEA was also in english when u go to maplestory.com back then.
my friend advised me to add 2x to your dexl each time you level this went on til i was 86 and someone told me i was a fucked hermit.
not caring about shadow partner maxing FJ first.
Going to orbis in MapleSEA when i only enough to go there and was unable to go back so i had to make another char because i couldn't do dmg to any monster.
selling scrolls to merchants.
100% scroll def to my panlid thinking it would make it worth more.

I put points into FA
I thought the Cashshop was where you bought actual armor

...that's pretty much all i did wrong that i could at least remember... lmao everyone elses' are hilarious

I thought you could only get to towns by walking. (Try it on a level 15 Bowman with 100% speed and no pots to spare)
