Community Opinion: Neo City

You guys realize Neo City is not fully updated...according to -Hime-, at least. We may see Neo Tokyo or some other expansion in the future...

Nay.

The area is pretty fun (except for the 4 hours hunting slimes), I'll give you that, the music is cool and the eye candy is great. The quests reward you good exp for such silly tasks, at least they give you way above what average quests give. That's about the positive points of it.

The negative points? You have NO reason to return to it after finishing the quests, specially if you need to hunt for a watch. It has to be one of the worst training places at the game in HP:EXP ratio. There are no useful drops. No point killing bosses again. Nada.

I enjoyed my trip there, I don't complain about it, but I have absolutely no reason to go back there, since doing ANYTHING else is more productive. :o

Probably we'll get these silly durability weapons.

I haven't been there long enough so I don't have an opinion. Still stuck at 2014 though - the item I need is a rare drop apparently and I get lazy sometimes... :|

It's not good for me. At all. It's good for low level casual players. Trying to make it seem like I'm the one being selfish is pretty lol.

Last time I checked, this thread is about personal opinion regarding Neo City, not rating its general values. Sure it's suitable for low level players and that is fine by you but that doesn't make it universally good. If you're fine with the update, there will be someone out there who's not. It is not fine as it is.

It was not supposed to frame selfishness on you, it's to remind you of the general idea of this thread. If you're fine with it, sure, I respect that, I'm not though.

In Neo Cities Defence it does have a few good things. The new log in screen looks nice. And if u believe in statistics, a while ago someone went through the rankings and found out that only a small % of the population plays to level 70 and up.(Lower than like 20% I think it was) In that light, we could almost say that Nexon is basing its actions on the majority of players and making places more accessable.

However, I do not think that is a valid excuse to butcher interesting content. A few weeks/ months before GMS got Neo city, MSEA recieved a translated Neo Tokyo. I find it strange that Nexon would not simply import the english translated Neo Tokyo from there. 2 Bowmasters(1 from JMS the other from MSEA) were recording their progress from the start of Neo Tokyo on Youtube. But suddenly at diff. points, they both stopped making any more vids. It's almost as if they saw something in that place that made them want to quit playing. Maybe there is some horrible secret in the later parts of Neo tokyo that the world was not meant to see? An age inappropriate cut scene? Too much violence? Something else that Nexon had to have censored? The mystery continues...

When I was doing the quests I noticed that there was someone who seemed to be training on the maverick map. These at least have decent exp/hp ratio and were quite mobby.
A few of the mobs appeared to be good sources for ores and powders.
Getting watches is no big deal. Train anywhere in Leafre for a while and you will have dozens.

But Neo City is limited to 70+ so this is not accessible to that majority anyway. And adding content to suit the current level of players means there's no reason to level up and the average stays low.

Anyway, less than 20% of the characters I personally own are 70+. I know a lot of other people have multiple characters too - should those count against high level content? I'd much rather get something new for my Paladin than for my level 38 Brawler.

Especially when it takes no effort to get from 30-50. Things like Mushroom Kingdom seem pointless because it seems much faster just going to CPQ. Not to mention they make the requirement level 30-38. As for Neo City, maybe they will add a Neo Tokyo section to it later...Even if it may be redundant =/

LOL, at least they put the range at the end of the general pop. level. (but u must be several lvl's higher to finish, idk the exact level)They prob. should have made the whole thing open at 70.

But ya know, time travel is an unpredictable business and considering Nexons track record, we are lucky that the whole concept did not get censored out. It may be illogical and twisted but at least we get to SEE some of the future. (yay! Neo slimes!!)

Besides that, the original Neo Tokyo was full of Bowmans/ Slinger hate anyways.(cant speak for other classes) What is more fun at a boss battle? Run to the corner and hide vs. I just 1 hit KO'd the evil robot!! Neo city = bonus round place

I cant really give it credit for something that does not exist yet but if Neo city truly has the potential to upgrade, than its possible that it could even surpass Neo Tokyo in terms of usefullness.

I don't know about you but I've been trying to Pap on my NW with 29xx HP. Best was 3/4 HP down appleless. There's little point for a ranged to kill some boss just because they can take what's coming, much like how jMS killed PB.

Does my opinion still count if I have never visited Neo City?

I'm not going to bother, it's gonna take more effort to get the materials to enter the city than it will to kill the bosses in it. Not a challenge, therefore, not worth going.

I found it pretty dull, Jack Barricade in Neo Tokyo, what'd he do teleport there by a CWK portal..? That collect paper quest was tedious and took ages, the kill and collect quests were pretty dull. I like the monster designs, I hate that there skills send you flying, The bosses were pretty dull and give about as good exp as Manon and Griffey do e.g Crap exp.. I mean it's a supposed high level area and yet Leafre and CWK have stronger monsters. It's about as ridculous as the Horntail quest starting at level 80.
