It is ridiculous to tell someone they can not comment on 'thing' if they have not done 'thing'. It has absolutely no relevance whether they have done it or not, because the effects have already been observed.

I don't know why they just don't legalize it. Government wants to tax us on soda, plastic bags and everything else. It just be another tax on weed. More money for them to have people pay for licenses to sell it. I think it they did it this way it be less crime not to mention it probably help the economy tremendously.

Popularity for tobacco is steadily being eroded in America. Many states don't allow it in restaurants or bars anymore, and it's no longer seen as "cool" to as many people as before.
As for making alcohol illegal, they tried that during the Prohibition. Everybody drank just as much, if not more, except that instead of reputable distillers and wineries producing booze, you now had shady moonshiners, and that was outright dangerous.

1. Alcohol will unfortunately never be illegal. Why? Anyone remember prohibition?
2. Cigarette smoking should be illegal, and it probably will in the future.
3. Pot has no obvious physical health effects.
4. However, it does have mental health effects, like, for one, making you quite literally more stupid and slower.
5. Smoking anything is bad for your health, your not supposed to inhale any kind of smoke at all.
6. If we make pot legal, America will only look much stupider than it does now.
7. I think, it should be legalized, just so everyone can see the results, Reverse Prohibiton anyone?
8. Weed smells horrible (IMO)
9. If it was legalized, it would be very expensive and taxed alot, another reason for people to go broke and homeless.
10. The argument "POT WONT KILL ME, IT WONT HURT ME!!!" is horribly invalid. Please, don't try to argue that. It is a drug, period. It may not hurt you physically, but, it does have an effect on your brain.

Well, first of all, Swerve, I made clear that I was browsing the Perry with a BlackBerry. I can't do much from there. As for articles, I should do a little research on english articles though. I know a few in spanish but I can't seem to find them translated.

I am against legalization of Marijuana. Smoking Marijuana is as bad as smoking a Cigarette/Cigar, except they're a lot worse. It will cause horrible hallucination, and can drop your IQ level.

I'm for it. It's on the same level as alchohol if not a little lower. I don't do any drugs or drink or any of that jazz, but I know plenty who do. Legalizing it would make it safer because it could be regulated, and it could even be taxed to create some government revenue. Just give the same restrictions on it as alchohol, like no driving while on it.

By the looks of this thread, seems like people need to get out of their shell and start researching some evidence and read about other countries' examples. Netherlands is the role model in this case.

Does it do anything good for you? No. Does it have potentially harmful effects? Yes. The bad out weighs the good, so stop bitching and find something else to spend your money on.

I looked at the poll results. I'm surprised. Considering how most people complained at me for smoking cigars/cigarettes, there doesn't seem to be as many people whining like little girls about legalization of marijuana. Grats SP, some of you grew a pair of balls and some brain cells. I'm surprised Greg didn't hop in here and voted "No" yet.

The poll is rigged. This forum has more people in it that are likely to smoke pot than the outside world. If you got a guy that's 15-25 and single with a part-time job and school, he might smoke pot. If you got that same guy 12 years later with a wife and two babies in a house whose mortgage he's paying off monthly, he will be considerably less likely to toke up. If there is anything positive about marijuana, it's that it's not addictive. When $hit piles up, people will choose to walk away.
I might add that people with a wife, two kids and a mortgage are less likely to be on internet forums PERIOD. As people's lives become more busy, stuff like SouthPerry takes a backseat.

And that is why pot isn't bad.

You know, I really don't like you. As already stated, marijuana does not have the horrible health effects on people. Therefore the second hand smoke doesn't either. Cigarettes and cigars on the other hand, do. You may call me a little girl for not wanting to breathe second hand poison, but I call you a bad person for thinking it's ok to subject others to it on the street. If killing yourself is the intelligent and manly thing to do (referring to the "grew a pair of balls" comment), then go be the ultimate man and jump off a cliff. And learn the difference between past and present tense.

Breathing any smoke is bad and carcinogenic. If anything, marijuana is more dangerous because there's no filter and literally no way of knowing what's really in there. Drug dealers are currently who you get weed from, these are not upstanding citizens. If they spiked your weed, that may be another way to walk off the cliff.

I'm pretty against Marijuana, because I'm pretty much a brainwashed kid who thinks drugs = bad, but if Marijuana was legalized, then I think the government should tax the hell out of it...like a 500% tax rate. No joke.
Neutral.

Government can't really enforce a tax on it unless it was commercially sold. o.o And if it was legal everyone would just grow it themselves or buy from people who do instead of the shops that sell them for ridiculous prices. (because of the tax)

Hey guys, remember that time when Khoi tried to justify the smoking of cigars and cigarettes? We never complained at you for smoking; we complained because the logic you were using to justify your habit was goddamn retarded. If I remember correctly, you even went as far as to call non-smokers "platypi" because of how they viewed cigars/cigarettes.
Cigars and cigarettes kill. You can't debate that. Marijuana is another story, and I think you knew that well enough before baiting those who don't support drugs. No drugs, no balls? MAKE WAY FOR THE INTERNET TOUGH GUY
I voted yes.

Just saying; My dad supports me, a hungry teen, pays an extremely over priced rent for this crappy house, pays child support to my mother, has a crappy job, has no college education. He's a coke addict, and further snooping around tells me he smokes pot as well. ><"
