Whether he bought NX or not is irrelevant to the item expiration. Where the mesos came from is irrelevant. Whether you feel bad for him or not is also irrelevant. (but how you state your feelings may give you a troll-infraction or the like)
The point is that the items are expiring due to a glitch.

Everyone already knew that though, so...what's the point of this thread?

That the glitch causes harm, is somewhat hard to notice when buying stuff and is not fixed yet?

He either directly used the nx along with mesos, or MTS'd to turn the nx into mesos.
The first is the simplest set of events, and the easiest. Thus I assumed this one. If he corrects me, I will apologize.
The second option is far more complex, difficult, and time consuming. Thus less likely, and a more dangerous assumption.
Neither one is improbable, but his wording implies that he directly spent the money on the weapon, not that he converted it.
Eh, firstly, using the MTS to nx into mesos is the easiest way of going about things since you have a risk of getting scammed trading them directly.
And secondly, why does anyone care about these NX for mesos trading people. The only difference between them doing that and using the MTS is that nexon misses out on some tax. It's not like they're doing something that hasn't already been designed into the game by nexon themselves. Even if he did directly trade through rather than using the MTS the outcome is exactly the same for everyone except nexon, and honestly I can't say I'm too sad about them missing out on a little tax after hearing about stuff like this
Regardless of any of that, they owe it to the players to fix this ASAP since this was caused by their own CS item that people payed for to ensure something like this would never happen.
Also, just curious, what happens if people try to re-lock the items with another lock from the cash shop?

Tad highbrow dont ya think? I doubt you follow the TOS down to the last syllable as well.
If you ever cursed, ksed(irrelevent if it's defense or not), killed a hacker mob(even to redistrubute the spawn) is considered illegit if you want to go that technical.

I don't think you can lock items that have an expiration date. If you could, there would be a lot of abuse.

This doesn't fix the problem, but assuming Nexon hasn't done anything to fix it by that date, and I imagine they won't, put the sword in the storage NPC and leave it there until they do something.
It won't expire until you take it out of storage.

Why are you so sadistic? It's as though you wish to see someone's car blow up just because it's more expensive than yours. In addition, Alcolix didn't say he bought everything with money. He projected the total cost of the expiring equipments to be $5,000 USD (or 5 million NX) if they were still in their normal state and were sold in the MTS.
I'm not sadistic. Spending as much as he did on in-game items is against the spirit of the game imo. I'm not going to make a big deal of it, it just rings of poetic justice to me.
It's not like wanting someone's car to blow up because their car is more expensive than mine. Unless it was because we agreed to a friendly race and they went out and bought a fucking racecar.

The point of this thread is to raise awareness of how lowly Nexon views its customers. It really makes me wonder why the BBB gives it an A- rating now.
@SoupySoupy
It's impossible to re-lock the items. Don't you think I would have already tried it, knowing that the item expiration date temporarily disappears in any window-typed user interfaces?
@Taiketo
I know that it's retained in the data when I put it in storage, and I even mentioned the fact in my ticket.
I also presented an easy solution to Nexon, and the fact that Nexon can process this solution overnight during a server check just proves that if I do need to rely on the storage to retain this item, Nexon doesn't care enough about its customers.
Also, even if I can keep the item past the expiration date, what is the point of keeping an item I can't use?

I don't get why so many people are against others buying massive amounts of nx with real money to use for mesos/equipment, keeps the game free for the rest of us and makes it cheaper to get nx from MTS.

@ Cyanne, I never said I had a problem with him buying the NX with real money, I don't agree with trading NX non-MTS in-game.

I don't get it either, Cyanne. So many people are trying to guess the amount I spent, even though I already repeated the fact multiple times that it's none of their business and that I don't disclose this information. It's as if this thread has become a giant witch hunt, with all the trolls such as MasPan and Dusk only satisfied when I confess to something that I didn't do.

That's because you're looking at the wrong Nexon company, the one you linked to is a corporation that specializes in building demolition and asbestos/lead/mold/waste removal.
The only way the Nexon in charge of MapleStory could get a BBB rating that high is with bribes.

I believe they discontinued their item unlocking services to avoid such happenings.
I also believe they discontinued the item locks and replaced it with a 1 year lock.
1 year locks + no item unlocking = no expiration on normal items.

Alright, two things:
1) Maspan, bringing something up after dropping it and being far too lazy to correct the typo using the convenient edit feature (and actually doing more work than editing it out) was completely unnecessary. You could have just corrected it.
2) ShMaiz3r, there is no need to get so defensive over a single comment. If you didn't spend 450 grand on a green snail shell, does it really matter if others think you did? Also, I'm going to note, happening to "casually mention" that certain people are trolls is a form of trolling itself.
So, both of you, drop it. The amount he may or may not have spent on NX is a non-issue and does not relate to the purpose of the topic.

Yes I do, which is why I asked you what happened.
Mmmm now has anyone tried filing a complaint with the BBB? I mean with any maple problem, ever, not just this one, and has it gotten anything done? Do they do anything about MMO happenings?
I'm not American so I don't know too much about it...

Eh, I really don't like it. I'd much rather it that the skilled players end up on top rather than those who can afford to dump the most money into the game. But it's already a big part of maple so I guess I'll deal with it. Now the people who buy gold on games like WoW, where it isn't, really annoy me.
