Practical Uses for Hamstring

Im not familiar with Time Temple mobs but what about <<<<DB, puppet >>>> with Hamstring? That way, they wont be hitting you because their 400 range (or whatever it is) is going after puppet and not on you, meaning it wont attack till it gets close to you. Then hamstring can keep them coming towards you slower, allowing you more time to kill them before they start attacking? Unless TT mobs autoaggro/hit everything on the map.

Puppet is a waste of time to cast in 99% of situations.

I remember talking to a friend who has maxed hamstring and he tells me that its useful when he was surrounded with 4 skeles on each side of him and hamstring allowed him to kill them all without using puppet after DBing both sides...yeah, not that useful, if you're putting 30 points in for a scenario that almost never happens...

The 1% being pap, right? =P Im not sure, but is the time it takes to cast puppet longer or shorter than the time it takes for hurricane to restart after getting hit/potting? Say some TT mob can hit you 6 times before you can kill them all, wouldnt casting puppet not only save pots, but allow you to kill them faster?

Hmm... considering their range, it'd take more than just Puppet to not get you hit while you kill them all. You'd probably have to Puppet behind you and DP them all away (maybe more than once if there's more than 4). Anyway, this is getting pretty far off the topic.

So I tested Hamstring at Anego just to be sure that it doesn't work on bosses, and it doesn't. I don't think I have any reason not to save up for MW 30 before putting more than one point in Hamstring now. *sigh*

I have 10 points saved for MW30 that would be in Hamstring if I hadn't heard about it. I would say that it is the best thing to do...but it could be years before we get MW30.

If it counts for anything, I'm saving 10 points for MW30 after I finish Concentrate. Then I'm gonna work on getting DB to 21. After that...I have no idea. I guess Hamstring just because there's nothing else. -_- Honestly I'd probably rather go back and max Focus/SA or put more into Thrust, but that'd be stupid.

Hamstring would have zero benefit to me with the way I kill. I don't even use DB in my training because I prefer to be reckless over trying to save pots like a whore.
