Swords (early levels)

the problem isnt landing a 10, its getting enough weapons to land a 10 on. IF you get your hands on a weapon, you dont scroll it with 10s because its too expensive to buy another.

I'm not aware of the situation on EMS, but is the drop rate poor on these items? I would think screamers at the least would be common.

when did you experiment w/ 1h? at goby? bad idea. any where else? did you carry on your experiment over several levels? was it long enough to show you how much your exp increases when you kill monsters in the same # of hits with both swords?

I actually never levelled at goby. I switched 1h and 2h all throughout 7x to 14x (4th job was added when I was 14x Crusader) at the normal levelling maps for that area of time. You're correct in that saying if they both kill in the same number of hits you'd get faster EXP, but I found with my weapons at the time that my 2 hand sword was killing in less hits then my 1h. Naturally this provided faster EXP.

I do agree with you though. If they kill in the same hits you should use the 1h.

i guess ems does have wolf spiders. i dont think himes are in. lycans are the only other source, theyre stupid. :/

I got about 30m in mesos. But i dunno what to use them on. Mind that i cant use all 30m, cause i need some pot money D:

So theres no reason to go 1h unless i can get a really good RK and a atk shield. (Yes atk shield scrolls are out but fking expensive).
Lets say i get a 90atk sparta then, what should i do at 70. Keep sparta? Upgrade to doombringer/RK if so, what atk would worth to upgrade to :o

I see you have some watk gear =O That's going to benefit the RK more than the Doombringer. You should go for the RK, see if you can get lucky =P Unless they're incredibly expensive compared to the Doombringer.

If your RK doesn't turn out very good (95+ watk) then you might wanna switch back to 2h by lvl 80.

Well since you're already talking about swords, i see it better posting this here instead of making another thread.
This is a simple question regrading fast attack 2h swords.
What's the attack speed of the Stoonetooth and Night Raven's wing (4 - 5)?
I'm asking this principally to make sure the Night Raven's wing is in fact a fast attack sword, and if it could be worse/equal/better than a Stoonetooth having the same attack.

Is that..cheap? f3. I havent seen many clean RKs in FM yet, i saw one but it went for 5-6m.
I also havent checked out doombringers yet, or i havent started looking at my lv 70 gear yet because iam still..not 60

I dunno if i can use the atk glove. If so i would need to upgrade my overall at least for the extra acc boost

I have no idea about the prices in EMS, but that RK looks cheap. I would take it, since it'll last you til lvl 90 at least.

If the question is upgrading your overall vs using dex gloves then definately upgrade your overall. Gloves are a huge part of your damage.

He could scrap up some DEX from his shoes too. Jump or DEX scrolls for shoes both give DEX.

Shoes for Dex give accuracy, plus they should be cheaper since only Warriors use them.

sounds like a decent price for that rk, for some strange reason some people greatly undervalue them

I checked out doombringers today, i see they go for around ..eh i saw only one.. >_> priced at 5m clean, 86atk clean. I also saw a daiwa sword, 96 or 94 atk for around 7-8m.

I also checked with RSS.
EMS prices: around 600k+ shoe dex 60%
1,5m+ shoe dex 30%

I saw a 7acc, 1 speed RSS for 7m. Is it a OK price? Iam trying to lower it, but if i cant. Is 7m a good price? :/ Keep in mind, i still only got about 30m. (includes pot money, so cant use everything f3.)

I also saw a 5acc, for 4m. :/ What suits best for me?

And around 90atk screamers go for 1m.
And in a bit overpriced shop, 7.7m for a 85atk RK clean. These are harder to find than doombringers (in FM).

I think we need more data on the price for 30% scrolls, both for 1h swords and 2h swords. Actually, I think the best would be information about all scroll-prices.

I am not a huge damage whore but I've always felt it's best to pump your money into the end-game weapon. That's not damage-whoring, that's just logical to me.

I realize we're talking about early swords here, but my basic thought is that it's not logical to spend on pumping scrolls beyond 60%s into a lionheart when you'll end up using a Screamer. If you're in GMS, it's very likely that the Lunchbox quest will be repeated; the scramble for GM scrolls was insane back when LBs appeared. So, get a decent screamer, wait till November, (if you can bring yourself to,) and scroll the lunchbox. I remember when 112 att red katanas were considered top of the line. A 60%ed lunchbox will do better than that. Godly attack, godly attack speed. And if you REALLY want to blow money on equipment, save up for an attack shield. Or if you want to spend less and go 2h, get a Rigbol. You can do that as low-dex nowadays.

Just remember, standards in Maple change all the time. Waaaay back, 10%/60%s were all that was available, people got to 15x on 1x with weapons scrolled like that. I mean godlier equipment now is POSSIBLE, but I think it's illogical to think that you HAVE to have like a 125 att DS or a 21/11 Maple Shield to play. Because you really don't.

Well, it's not a bad thought since end-game stuff requires lots of money to get the best possible stuff. On the other hand, I've found that a lot of non-NX revenue comes from end-game anyways, so it wouldn't hurt to get an intermediate weapon to help you get to end-game levels.

Oh, and this guy is in EMS. Just so you know =P
