8 to 12 is the current recommended length thanks to rainbow tables and similar increases in brute-force technology.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

This post is wrong in so many ways. I won't even begin to explain the hacking sprees there were which did not involve knowing ANY information about your account.

I concur. So before you go around calling everyone who gets hacked "stupid," know your facts.

You're talking to someone who got hacked here. And for absolutely no specific reason either (I'm dirt poor, the guy didn't even bother taking anything except for the 500k mesos I had). Some guy just brute forced my e-mail randomly one day, and I lost one of my accounts. Got it back later after a days worth of circumventing the system, but the point is you're never really safe unless you take the precautions to protect yourself. And no, those precautions aren't just making sure you don't give your e-mail to anyone.

Bullpomegranate. You obviously never knew about the hack outbreaks that nexon denied ever happened, with too many to count that had their information exposed to hackers.

Sorry if i offended anyone who got hacked before, maybe the word "Stupid" wasnt a good word to use. I meant to say people need to learn not to give there e-mails to anyone and dont sign up for website with the same user name as your maplestory username.

If you had to put a Different PIC then when you log on, possibly be more secure,
But eh, there still would be way around that.

We didn't.
We were still hacked.

This is a bad idea anyways. The only time I really want something liek this is when my connection is so bad it takes forever to log in not counting time spent inputting pic, spam clicking channels to get them to connect, etc. I mean, they have "Save Login ID" for a reason. <<
