I'm not a grammer Nazi (As is shown by my mispelling of "Grammer", But if you're making a mass template I think that the template should be neat & tidy.
I really don't like being a pineapple, but this is a template designed for 100s of people to use, coming right out of the box with errors like that... I dunno... It's just a lil... sumthing....

It's a challenge to get 10 people to do something. The most I've ever seen in a concerted effort was 34 in fact.
Yes 1000 would be highly visible and noticed, if they could be found and made to bother.

Oh I agree. Its a lot easier to say than to actually do. I just think it would be pretty funny if their Facebook in inundated with complains...would be a lot harder to ignore than the ticket system.

Kind of sad but I posted this on basil and so far I have around 5x who have done it. I expected SP to be condescending on the issue, but hey, the time it takes for you to try to rationalize this as a waste of time, is most likely enough time to copy and paste the letter.

You say you have 5x who've done it but you have no way of knowing that for truth, and even if you're right, 59 out of 5,000,000 is 0.001%. That'll be noticed.

Depends how many people actually do the tickets, if it's one individual it will be noticed. But you're right there should be more. The reason I make people put it in the "potential hack" format is because the GM has to read it, it's a report. From my experience priorities are even higher than the CS tickets when it comes to hacks.

I think the extreme circumstances of the reoccurring exploits essentially taking away any control nexon had, a long with the customers aware of it, is a pretty good damn reason for them to grab themselves by their balls and do something . 25 seconds to make that opinion stronger, why not?

Because the last half dozen times similar things happened and people complained nothing happened. The grunts who read tickets clearly don't give a damn and/or have the capability to actually effect a change even if they do.
You can throw yourself against the mountain day in and day out, but unless physics spontaneously turn that mountain to jell-o you're not getting through before you've broken every bone in your body trying. Adding a few hundred more bodies won't change that if you're still just flinging yourself at the side of it. You need proper equipment that you don't have.

An avalanche crushing you to death gets you no closer to the other side of the mountain.
I think you need an informative PSA.

I don't know why spamming a huge amount of the same ticket would make the message more clear than 1.
EDIT:
Random question: Is ticket system seperated from email? Because my account has my dads email in it and apparently I can't change it to my own anymore. I can access it, if I really have to, but I don't want to bother him with my MS stuff.

A sacrifice for the greater cause! An avalance will prove the mountain to be unstable therefore watched. I'm really taking this metaphor too far but I'm enjoying it.
Who says you're special enough to say I'm not special???
Seriously though, I'm not even doing this for me, I'm doing it to the people who want to play, and maybe if I ever wanted to come back. What I'm asking for players to do, and believing they are taking some responsibility, may be good for some character. Who know's theres more than one way to complete or feel accomplished.

It's not the number of tickets that is the whole point here. Tickets filed under the "hacker" category have to be read, as they are reports. The problem nexon has is responding because they have insufficient evidence or frankly, initiative to respond. But that's all we want them to do is READ it. It show's the community is more than a bunch of 12 year olds trying to get an easy way out. It gives a better representation. I feel like repetition will also get a response, though as eos, strongly disagrees, I don't see the harm in trying as it's such an insiginficant amount of time. Though this doesn't disregard he maybe very well right.

The point you're missing is the supreme arrogance you're displaying thinking that doing the exact same thing that's been done for years is suddenly going to work just because you decided to try it. Are you somehow better than everyone else? Is your plan somehow more clever? Are you trying something new and wonderful no one has ever thought of? The answer to all of those is a point blank "No" therefore there is zero reason to believe it will have any more impact than any other time it's been done.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
The fact that you're taking it personally that people don't want to do the same pointless crap yet again is just testament to the degree to which you are making it about you. You're not a Maple Messiah. You will not part the Red Sea that is Nexon and lead your people to the promised land. You've done nothing to earn faith, trust, or even respect when all you do is recycling the same crap and treat it like it's suddenly become gold.
You're not even asking for something that can be measured, so you have no way to even declare this a success. You may as well shout at the sky demanding it stop raining and declare that your victory when it eventually does.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

A nicer word is stubborn but it's not something I'm missing, just optimistically overlooking. Yes there's a difference.

No, I don't believe any of that, petitions fall through because it's signatures, anyone can sign something and write it once in a ticket and it be taken as a hiccup, if not a sneeze. Emails, no real impact as they don't take anything by email seriously, and abusing the only fax number available will close it down. Attempting to use the system against them is not something I've seen successfully because I don't believe enough did it, and I don't think they did it right. And that could be as small as a detail of submitting it incorrectly, or the fact hte ticket system is actually updated. The closest thing we got is an L/A times article that got disregared as sarah being a 12 year old, like the rest of their forum. Publicity, even negative would only work against us. Whether it's clever isn't in question, whether it's been done precisely like this. Even the smallest change in my eyes can make the greatest impact.
Eosian Wrote:Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
But I'm not doing the same thing over and over again, it's measuring the weakest point of a fence, or in this case the greatest penetration. I haven't seen this done, I've seen petitions, new articles, but I've never seen a mass of tickets proposing the same thing, submitted in a way where it will be read. And if it has happened again, was it before or after the ticket system revamp.
Eosian Wrote:The fact that you're taking it personally
My intention is not fully because I'm in the world this is being most abused in, I am putting personal effort into it because I grew up with maplestory, but like a ill mannered teen I can't accept it for what it is at the moment.

But it isn't gold too me. It's just small effort at a large scale in order to possibly gain attention. No matter what you argue, it does gain attention, whether acted on or not is entirely different matter. I'm not trying to argue with you but there's a perception you see and I see. I know your point, I know the other side of the argument that it could fail, and do absolutely nothing, but I want you see that the effort in terms of trying again, isn't all in vain all of the time.
Eosian Wrote:You're not even asking for something that can be measured, so you have no way to even declare this a success. You may as well shout at the sky demanding it stop raining and declare that your victory when it eventually does.
If any action is taken at all, that isn't the same as the previous, I'll declare it a success. If they take a step up to take care of the hacks that control us, rather the ones that annoy us, that is success. I measure it by their action.
I don't believe I'm the god of maple or the "president of khaini" joke that I play around with, otherwise I'd do it myself. What I simply want is a rational group effort to say "We agree to this, we want this, make us happy". With their own tidbits added in. The key word here is chance, instead of investing a dollar, you're investing seconds, and for something that will be read. But as they say, you get what you pay for, which means perhaps 25 seconds of attention.

Yes. Yes you are. We've explicitly told you it's been done before. We had an entire subforum pointed to in this very thread where it was tried over and over. There are at least four threads a year from sleepywood where this exact same thing is done and who knows how many on Basil & other sites. There've been at least two of them on this site since February of 2010. Its quite literally the oldest, most retried attempt of all of them. All the other weird things you've seen have been done because this route doesn't do a damn thing.
There's literally billions of things you haven't seen done. Doesn't mean they didn't happen. It's idiotic to dismiss what you're being told has been tried before and keep trying, not merely stubborn. There comes a point where any rational person has to accept that moving the ocean with an eye dropper isn't working any better with several hundred eye droppers.
Do you know what happens to 500 copies of the same ticket? They get the same copy pasted reply and 0 actual attention. As soon a the scan the first five words they think "Oh, form letter. *reply* *paste*, *next*". Sending in tickets does not get issues to the place they need to go to effect change. They go to entry level grunts who don't give a pineapple and couldn't change anything if they wanted to. The last real change we actually successfully pulled off took a letter writing campaign addressed to an actual person in a position of relevance in Nexon HQ.

So I don't keep pingponging about this, I'll just leave it at this.
I'm aware it's a risk, an illogical risk, which is why I'm taking it, and giving people the choice to take it with me, or not. I have my reasons why I think it's worth the 25 seconds made to submit it, that's that.

They know the sources, I gave them a ticket about it and they said the fact I knew those URL's could be a bannable offence but they'll over look it.
