What is the best amount of DEX to have?

Silver_ice Wrote:id say 30-40 dex. quite honestly if u drop urself down to 4 thats a f'uckload of ap resets and nx, it'll hurt. the lower ur dex is the better so try to keep it as low as possible without missing a bunch.

Yea. I hate having my DEX at 72 when I could've easily done 60. I don't even have a zHelm yet. <_<

I never had any major accuracy issues except for LPQ's Alishar in my lower levels. Oh, wait, no one LPQs anymore.

I still don't have ACC issues for whatever I want to train on. You can easily do it with more then 40 and not run into problems.

If you want to settle the question of how much base DEX you should have, I suggest you do some research on how much accuracy and DEX you can farm from equips/buffs/pots. If Fiel wasn't being so lazy I'd redirect you to my guide. It has a list of all the stuff you can use for equips (and later on the scrolls) so you have an idea of what your final build for a Warrior can be.

(I have a backup of my guide, but I don't think it's a good idea to post a part of it here)

Dozens of people end up using DEX overalls, DEX earrings, DEX/accuracy shoes, etc. But if you've got little funds, then start with DEX gloves. Work up your base DEX a little bit, and don't go too far with base DEX if you think you can scrounge up enough DEX/accuracy equips with your savings. After getting DEX gloves, you should try to aim getting for the Zhelm. That's roughly 39 accuracy. Not cheap, but it is probably a lot cheaper than any of the other DEX/accuracy stuff.

Btw, definitely do not go up to 100 base DEX (that's my Paladin lol). I have 163 accuracy w/o MW and whatever DEX/accuracy my pants and Silver Deputy Star gives xD

You won't do as high as damage as dexless saders, but you save a ton of money. No need to buy accuracy pills, no need to spend hundreds of millions on accuracy scrolls or scrolled items. I do have a few accuracy items (shoes and Z-helm) but when I do get a few spare mesos, I look for str and atk based items.
Accuracy pills are cheap.

Assuming you spend 10 hours per level from 1-120 (which is a really generous estimate), you use up 7200 sniper pills, or 360k worth. From 1-120. It's the cheapest +12.5 STR you'll ever get.

Okay so I guess... I'll go with a cap of either 40 or 50(?)

On my terrible terrible Dk I have 68 base Dex.
I also have ACC equips- my Acc is 111-
I am happy with it.
I don't like missing at all because I need the KB to train well (by train I mean kill area bosses and keep them KBing)
Base Dex just depends on how much funding you are willing to throw into the character and MORE importantly how MUCH time you play Maple.
If you are UBER SUPER pineapple Hardcore- I'd try to go SUPER low- Like less than 25 low.
If you are a casual player I'd go 50+
Prob around 60 or 70 max.Glitter

Well I mean I was planning to do an NX Funding by using the trade system. So with the idea of proper funding through MTS, I would be okay with 40 Dex total? Or should I go for the 50 just in case?

There was someone on GameFAQs who created a guide on the forum that showed how a warrior with no funding and only like 14 DEX can get up to there 6Xs and 7Xs. I think it was metave (Taiketo or Fiel (or anyone else from GFAQs) correct me if I am wrong) who made it. So, it is possible to go 14 DEX and be unfunded.

Just go 40-... Even if you decide to AP reset later it's not as bad as a lot of people who HP wash.

If you can do that, go for 40 or lower.

I've posted a mini-guide on this forum for staying very low dex unfunded before, along the lines of 20-30 base depending on how early you can get your hands on a little bit of mesos (300-400k)

I'll try to find it :/

edit: Covers up to the end of 2nd job, by then you should have a better idea of what warrior gear you can get your hands on and what dex that'll let you have.

Stereo Wrote:I've played 5 base dex to level 60 without funds... 40 is enough to take you to 100+

My Paladin is and has always been 35 base.. training is slightly more limited in variety but by no means worse.

I guess by "very little" I mean about 400-500k by level 30 (easy if you KPQ). Maybe 5mil by 50? :/ Mostly into weapons. If you just grind straight up the entire time you won't get it, so minimal funding is needed if you want to level up quickly. If you take it slower and PQ (CPQ necklaces are still reasonably valuable for example) then you can make easily enough cash.

correct me if im wrong here. the way i interpret this is if i make a new warrior and have 40 dex. i can get to lvl 100 with no funds at all? it will however make me lvl slower is that what you mean?(assuming that pq is slower than grinding that is. im a pq nub. other than lpq and kpq i've never tried the other -_-)
seriously, no sarcasm or whatever. but can you tell me what kind of equips should i use when im lvl 9x (like early 9x) and say im a sader? im planning to make a new char in windia, i was gonna make a 60 dex warrior there.

The only slow point for me was getting a Zakum helmet, I had to train 90-112 at Dual Pirates until I got one cause I only had 105 acc with an atk glove. of course back then Brown Bandanas and Helmet Acc scrolls weren't out, I was only using a 3 luk 4 acc Bamboo Hat. Other than that, I was training faster, cause I was so much stronger than normal dex warriors :/

Around 9x my gear was that:
3 luk 4 acc hat
4 str 22 dex 11 acc overall -> most expensive probably, I scrolled it for about 60mil when 60%s were only 3-4mil each. May be cheaper with 30%s or prescrolled.
8 dex Icarus cape/8 str Icarus cape
5str/2dex Dark Imperial for atk
4 str 1 dex 7 acc Dark War Greave (1 10% 3 60%)

With my 50 base acc (35 dex + mastery) this is about 100 base acc with dex cape, 93 without it.

103 is enough to train on Ghost Pirates, Death Teddies, Kentaurs, etc. I think 110 is enough for Gobies as long as you have someone to kill the bone fish.

With this gear and a Zakum helmet (30-40m) you can easily stay at 4 base dex up to level 100.

The best amount of DEX to have is 4. I managed 15 base DEX all the way to Hero, with only a couple mil for funding (I never gach or iTCG, or anything like that either). That was before all the new DEX stuff too, like pendants, face, eye, helm acc scrolls, etc. Cap your accuracy, not your DEX. That means look at what you intend to train on and only add base DEX as a last resort. There isn't some magical "unfunded character DEX amount."

You're off by a factor of 10, it's 3.6m worth.
500 meso per pill * 6 pills per hour * 10 hours per level * 120 levels = 3.6m meso.
And that's accepting your assumption of 10 hours per level, which IME is not generous at all.

1-30 is <15 hours of playing.
30-40 is <2 hours per level.
40-50 is <4 hours per level.
50-60 is <6 hours per level.
60-70 is <8 hours per level.
70-80 is <10 hours per level.
80-90 is <5 hours per level.
90-100 is <8 hours per level.
At that point if you spend the other 800 hours hitting 120, you'd be taking 40 hours per level which is very generous:f6: Even WKs can do better than that. In all likelihood, it's only around 600-800 hours depending on class. And obviously you don't need accuracy pills the entire time, esp. at 3x-6x you gain a lot of acc all at once and the monster requirements don't change much.

i made my first char(WK now) 3 years ago, and now my dex is at 90. kinda high. i wish i could reset it, but that's like, $93 to reset all the way down to 60.

4. If you can really afford acc eqs. Keep it dexless.

^ that
otherwise, aim for 119 acc (129 with a pill) with as little dex as possible. Thats enough acc to hit most monsters (139 for skeles, so if you have bless your good, 147 for CWK guys iirc, and more for some bosses like manon/griffy). I wouldnt go over 60 base dex, I had 60 on my sader, and with crappy funding I had +60 dex (enough for a ribgol, which I never got Tongue), and more than enough accuracy.

For things that needed more accuracy to hit, I had a dex cape opposed to my str one, and I could switch those. if there was something with crazy avoid, I used dex WGs.
