What is the best amount of DEX to have?
#1
Wellonce again this is the first time I have ever made a warrior and I was wondering what the best amount of DEX was to have. My friend told me it should be between two or three higher than your level. So I am level 25 and have 27 DEX, but when I try to hit Dark Axe Stumps or Ghost Stumps I get quite a bit of misses. Should my DEX be higher?
Thanks ahead of Time.

Depends on the amount of funds you have, really.

Basically no funding, this is my first char on this server.

The old rule of thumb was DEX = 2 X LEVEL. But due to all of the DEX and accuracy equips now, you'll have too much DEX. I recommend you get just enough DEX to hit the monsters you're training on and getting as many DEX equips you can. This'll take a lot of planning to do right, though, but I don't think you'd want to have lots more or not enough DEX.

Well, now, I guess 40 dex?

Cap it at 60 in your higher levels, I'm pretty sure that's the cap nowadays.

This was based on minimum equipment requirements (you needed at least x STR so this was the highest possible dex and still wear level-appropriate gear).

At the time it was written, the accuracy and damage formulas were not known.

Since the beginning of Global, there has never been a time when more than 40 dex was a necessity for the average warrior. Unless you want to equip special items such as the Stonetooth Sword, I'd say 40 is the max you should ever consider. 20 is possible with very little funding, 4-6 base is possible with quite a bit.

Is 40 DEX easy to accomplish with no fundings, though?

If you're unfunded, then go for 50-60.

Stereo, I partially agree with you there. If you said 60 DEX, then I'd completely agree with you. Very little funding? How much exactly is "very little" funding? I have around 27m on my crusader atm, and I consider that very little funding. There's no way I could have enough ACC if I had 32 less DEX then what I have now (capped at 72).

IIRC, my accuracy is 114 (124 with Sniper) at level 84.

I've played 5 base dex to level 60 without funds... 40 is enough to take you to 100+

My Paladin is and has always been 35 base.. training is slightly more limited in variety but by no means worse.

I guess by "very little" I mean about 400-500k by level 30 (easy if you KPQ). Maybe 5mil by 50? :/ Mostly into weapons. If you just grind straight up the entire time you won't get it, so minimal funding is needed if you want to level up quickly. If you take it slower and PQ (CPQ necklaces are still reasonably valuable for example) then you can make easily enough cash.

So If I chose to cap at 60 DEX would that sound about best for my unfunded Fighter?

Let's see, 40 DEX gives 32 acc, which is equivalent to 64 LUK...

Yeah. 40 DEX is doable unfunded. Definitely. It limits the places you can go, though. 50-60 cap is prolly suitable for you.

4 dex always the best. With your funding I guess no more than 50, or you will regret it in the higher levels.

Easy cheap dex equips for unfunded/low level chars.
Brown dana/ZHelm
100%'d overall for dex
*Some random acc shoes* (if you can't afford att)
Dex gloves (if you can't afford att)
Dex scrolled cape (5-10) - again, if you can't afford att
Spiegellman (sp?) pendant
Maple leaf (temporarily)
Might be pushing it but... Low dex earrings. =/

Weapon scrolls for acc are good on cheap weapons

i can do 30 base dex unfunded o_o

i would advise you to make a high dex warrior (around 60 dex) and train in high drop areas (cPQ;Sakuras;etc) then use that money to make a low dex (around 25) warrior.

The high dex warrior should only train at high money making areas, and not used to grinding full on.

I have 50 dex on my Sader and I'm pretty happy with it.

You won't do as high as damage as dexless saders, but you save a ton of money. No need to buy accuracy pills, no need to spend hundreds of millions on accuracy scrolls or scrolled items. I do have a few accuracy items (shoes and Z-helm) but when I do get a few spare mesos, I look for str and atk based items.

So you don't ever have any real accuracy problems with your DEX at level 50 and you save a pretty good amount of money, So then 60 is too much?

id say 30-40 dex. quite honestly if u drop urself down to 4 thats a f'uckload of ap resets and nx, it'll hurt. the lower ur dex is the better so try to keep it as low as possible without missing a bunch.
