Will we run out of water before fuel?

You're all thinking first-world about this.

I addressed this in a previous post. Because we are us, we are more important.

But I know that wording might be hard to understand. Let me try it another way.

To me, I am more important than a 10 year old in Africa who doesn't have healthy water. I will always take care to ensure that I am doing good before actively trying to help others, particularly others on the other side of the world who's existence has no true direct impact on my own life. This is human nature.

Basically, we're more important to ourselves. It might sound harsh, but pineapple 'em; we matter more than they do.

Misnomer. It's a climate shift, they've happened many times through the history of the world, and we've always been able to get through. Even the over-the-top ice ages.

I'm more concerned about helium than gas or water. I'm weird like that.

we as humans are a relatively new specie and we have been trough 1 glaciation, which almost cost us exticntion. of course now we have developed much better technology and a larger chunk of humanity would probably survive it. but yes, global warming and the such is real but its also a normal part of our planets cicle, nothing to really be worried about.

Water is recyclable, fuel isn't. When you drink water, and you urinate through the toilet, where do you think it ends up? It gets renewed and all of the toxins are rid through several processes (not gonig to explain all of this though) ; so theoretically speaking, us humans drink our own urine? No. >_>

Water is something that can be renewed/restored, here's another example. There's a lake, when it's hot, it evaporates, eventually, it becomes rain, and water falls back down into that lake. It's a never-ending cycle.

the cost of cleaning that water is what is going to make it expensive to buy water. the water in the lake will become acid rain, try drinking that. pollution is the problem we face when it comes to drinking water.

Pray for global warming. Or hope if you're not one of them religious folk. But then again we can mine asteroids for water. If you look at Chicago they recycle sewage water with a mixture of chemicals and filters that makes it drinkable after a short while. And luckily I'm right next to the GREAT LAKES.

It's possible to desaltinize ocean or sea water. I know some places in the world suffer from shortages of drinking water, but 1st world countries will never have that as an issue.

If the polar ice caps are allowed to melt, we'll have the opposite problem: more water than we know what to do with. Already the weather has started to go insane as each year we seem to have killer hurricanes. I don't remember this sort of thing in the mid 90s.

I find it impossible to believe that the mass deforestation (particularly of the rainforests) and pumping of wastes and gases into the atmosphere and water bodies has 0 impact on the environment.

Regardless of whether humans affected the climate shifting, "global warming" is a buzz word which intends to overstate the issue for emotional effect. Sort of like how anti-abortion people prefer the term "pro-life" and pro-abortion people prefer the term "pro-choice". It's essentially the same thing, just painted in a way that will draw the intended emotional effect.

Despite the issue being manipulated by politicians and being emotionally charged by their followers, that does not change the fact that humans ARE negatively influencing the environment. Disagreeing with how the issue is handled by the politicians doesn't negate its validity, I think.

The Earth has been through worse. Even if we manage to destroy ourselves, we're not taking the all of life with it (unless we somehow manage to blow up to planet).

However, most would submit that preserving human life is the paramount mission of civilization. I don't know how much satisfaction there would be for microscopic organisms and roaches survive, but not any of us.

Also, desaltinize the ocean water would kill many ocean life forms, throwing off the entire food chain right? Creating a bigger problem?
