Worst question I've ever been asked

I thought PHP was a scripting language, since it goes through an interpreter every time the file is requested.

I have no idea how to edit a live web page with PHP or HTML, nor do I know what Perl is. I would have gone with Javascript because GreaseMonkey uses it.
