But isn't this character all ready in TMS/CMS? Honestly I can't remember, but I know one version have a PvP system that (requires nx) involves players doing mini games, killing monsters, and doing jump quest, etc etc.
The large imbalance would still exist. The only difference is the fight would be (potentially) 50x longer.

PvP in a game like MapleStory is and has always been a dumb idea. It's way to simple in terms of graphics and mechanics to be fun battling just character against character. It has also been said already, but I'll press on it again. The imbalance is unfixable unless they implement nerfings and restrictions and then PvP becomes pointless. Skill at the game was never a part of what you need to be good at MS and with generic skills and artificial stats you really have nothing to pit against others.

I think it'd be neat if their pvp was players entering a map
similar to wolf vs. sheep event. You get an armor suit that has
generic skills that everyone has access to. Skills would be common
and upgradable only via wins VS. unique opponents like a tier system.
That would be fun, based purely on player skills, not class skills.

I am 99% sure that the only existing PvP system, the garden thingy in CMS, is more of a "see who kills something faster" contest than directly player versus player. Maple is completely unsuited for PvP, since player movements are handled on the client side, not on the server side.

1. PvP is not possible due to latency
2. No class can hit thieves, not even archers or thieves themselves, due to 400~600 avoid (try to hit a monster with that avoid, lol, not gonna happen, and I'm not even including 40% shadow shifter and bstep invincibility and smokescreen...)
3. Dark Sight = people can't see thieves, physical attacks don't hit, only magical ones do.
4. You can't evade ranged attacks because of the auto-lockon (for classes that CAN be hit)
5. AoE attacks = instant 100k dmg = dead (for classes that can be hit)
6. Snipe = instant-auto-lock-on 200k dmg = dead (for classes that can be hit)
It's just not gonna work people want it to work...
It can only be turn based with nerfed damage, or real-time with only "normal attacks" with 1 damage each and no avoid/acc (no matter the class), no range, and HP set back to 100-ish... aka PvP noob (beginner) mode... and even then you have the latency...
Or it can be like CPQ, that's the closest to PvP with normal skills/classes/HP/avoid/acc...but we already have that...
That's it folks...
Or.......... you can try Bad Company 2, that game is -all- about PvP... Cya at the Battlefield!

if maple had a pvp the the dmg would have to b reduced by 10%, all the skills would have the same affects, poisoned areas, iframes, stuns, and wep/magic def
my reasoning for the 10% dmg is because i have 6.3k hp and do about 15k dmg, which means i could 1hko so many players, especially ranged chars... ranged chars would obviously have the advantage because they can give u so much dmg before u get close to them

With a 10% reduction I would still kill any Mapler with max HP with 1 hit. They'd need to make a whole other system for it to be even remotely doable. It will still fail though.

Sheep VS Wolves (save for when people discovered/exploited the stupid vines skill glitch) was so awesome it should had been a permanent PQ, it's way better than Ariant and others.
Heck, I remember being level 92 and doing Sheep VS Wolves for fun. Indeed the fun ended when people exploited vines, but it was such an awesome idea. With some tweaks a PVP could work like that. Say you're a magician, you get magician-like skills. Say you're a warrior, you get warrior-like skills, you can get a s job specific as you want. Just need to be really careful so exploits as the vines skill don't happen.

Currently HH and PG cannot miss. The only thing they don't kill is "invincible" flagged monsters, which PG doesn't do damage to. Of course, Thieves don't do touch damage...

I recall mages getting some kind of mana reflection skill. If that's the case, every mage would be afraid to attack each other (if it works the way I think it works). >_>
And their Element Resist skill might be somewhat useful. Somewhat.

This is what happens when people comes into some threads without reading even the first comments.
If we had PVP in MS, It would have to be held in a special arena for it, where some things would be restricted and changed (the same way you can fly only inside the crimson sky doc). Don't games like WonderKing or LaTale have this system?. It is stupid to think that skills like Snipe or Dark Sight would work inside a PvP arena, or that arrows and stars would auto follow other players. I accept the Server-Client latency as a valid argument against a PvP system, but talking about skills is stupid. It's like expecting skills like power guard which reflects 40% of the dmg or Flash Jump to work inside too. Freeze, Stun, Poison, Burn, neither of those would work either.
