Typhon Training

Russt Wrote:Yeah, Mark of Heroism makes the return a lot easier, but without it, the log off trick would help.
(If it works.)

I'm sure it would. After getting super kbed, there's a good second where I'm just like "Aww shyt", I could be esc+up+entering during that time.

Logging off really helps, it takes me about 10 seconds to relog and spawn at the top of the map again. Only problem would be logging off with low HP, but that's not really a problem since Typhons do low damage.

Opeth, How the hell did you get 3% in 20 minutes? Did you just stand without moving or did you mob them? Because in an hour of standing in one place without moving at all I gained 7% o_o at level 125

I was sharing the map with someone so it was a constant swarm of Typhons heading towards me. Other times the Sin would bring his mob towards me so he could hit his Eggs in peace. Rolleyes

One more thing I would like to mention on these.
There were occasions where the spawn slowed down and I found out why and a way to fix it. As some people have noticed there is a platform on the bottom of the map that you can stay on by using a pot/pet food trick (if you jump from there you will be warped though) and essentially, a large mob slowly develops on the bottom. In order to get that spawn to rise and get myself a good 10-15 min constant non-moving mob, all you have to do is go through the bottom portal and come back in. You should see a large wave of them just going strait up to various platforms and if you climb quickly enough, you should be able to hit the mob right as it passes that central safe platform.

How does one go about money making AFTER this whole egg drop ordeal will be sorted out?

meaning Nexon WILL fix this uber drops from the eggs. I know that these drops from the eggs are a very reliable source of income for now, but what happens afterwards? I drink pots like water here and i was wondering how i can save money or possibly even MAKE money without the scroll drops?

I see this as a valuable training spot for now.

Why does everyone assume it's a mistake? Enough of these scrolls and Tobis pumped into the economy and they'll suddenly be worthless.

It's not like most of these are particularly valuable scrolls anyway. 1 hand axe? Helm def? not the best scrolls.

Interesting fact for those who had gone Rain/Erupt early and went to wolf spiders:

Wolf Spiders: Level: 80
HP: 28000
MP: 350
EXP: 1200
Physical Attack: 450
KB: 1000

Typhon: Level: 100
HP: 56000
MP: 230
EXP: 3200
Physical Attack: 270
KB: 0?

So, for double the HP, and about 1000 less damage taken, you get almost 3 times the EXP. So with a Rain/erupt first build, you could easily go from Pirates, to Wolf Spiders, to Typhons, possibly getting EXP faster than a strafe build ending at newties. I know I am finishing my 14 lvls til 120 at typhons, and with about 21 Rain, i am getting about 15% an hour when im hunting the eggs alone, when i go for training, i think i could hit almost 20% an hour.

On a side note, why does Wolf Spiders even have magic attack? or does pretty much all monsters have a magic att regardless.

Retalion Wrote:Wouldnt standing at the cave entrance mean you're not killing the eggs (which drop most of the scrolls)? I just use the stand in the middle method.

I was there for 3-4 hours today and found 11 tobis, 21 70% topwear str, 70 30% helm def, 24 30% bottomwear hp, 49 70% cape def (or mag def), 49 70% xbow attack, 60 70% 1h axe, 2 nimble wristguards and some of the other junk.

Things to chime in:

1. You dont need to bring a lot of pots. They drop alot of food that heals 1.5k and I was able to survive on those for a good hour (on 100) before having to use the barbs that I brought.
2. Noobs (Some are high levels but its pathetic they have to use the "chief bandit" approach to goby maps method) annoy the hell outta me here. You'd see a good 5-10 people on your map every minute (no exaggeration). Some have the courtesy to just break the top egg and leave when they see you at middle. There were a few pathetic bastards who'd break the 2 eggs on the platform I was raining on even after seeing me there.
3. Super PKB is REALLY annoying. Standing on the spikes/thorns usually saves you from that but regardless, its really annoying, especially in a full world like Scania where you lose your map when you get super pkb'd.

Edit: At 128 with mediocre equips (I dont have an overall no more), I was getting roughly 6-7%/hr (about 1-1.2% every 10 minutes), and this is with a super pkb about every 10-15 minutes (I fail >_>).

So yeah, I made around 100 mill there today, lololo. (Even though 30% helm def only sell for like 100k, 70 of them = 7 mill xD)

Edit 2: I dont know if anyone's noticed, but when I went up to mob them and brought them down to that ledge with 2 eggs, if I had previously casted a puppet, they dont go after me but the puppet, even if the puppet was cast before aggro'ing them, meaning they maybe react strangely to puppet.

In response to edit 2, they don't react strangely to Puppet.
All monsters are like that.

I covered the topic in my Archer Glitch Glossary way back.

Puppet coming into "range" is the same as it being cast as far as monsters are concerned.
What is this range I'm talking about? You know how the red mini-map dot that indicated another player is there works? Imagine Puppet were another player. Once you're close enough to it for it to appear on the mini-map, the monsters that are gunning for you consider it as though it's been cast.
I hope I made sense, it's sort of hard to explain.

Money shouldn't be an issue here if you loot. Each Typhon drops around 1000 meso, and you need 1 barb/3 Typhon hits. Sounds good to me.

I'm really surprised the scrolls sell though. I was using them for shits and giggles mostly. Well, that, and making some HP Pants/STR Tops for myself seeing how I thought the prices were next to nothing.

As a general rule, any scroll that adds any of the four AP is never worthless. There are some exceptions, like cape 10% scrolls.

And from what I understand, monster magic attack doesn't do anything. Touch damage is physical attack, and skill attacks have their own attack value. So yeah... it's worthless. Unless I understand wrong and magic attack is multiplied by the skill attack value.

the only thing with the top str 70% scrolls is that the price easily went from ~3 mil (bello) to about 700k, maybe less. I myself have 35+ and am planning on making a nice str top for my warrior.

On a side note, i think im going to try and forge the Crimsonwood bow. After i got the Deputy Star, i had 110 str (with 77 as a base :O) so adding 5 more str to use the bow if i get it to be 109+ (current is 110) would be awesome, seeing as it is fast speed.

LOL good luck with that Rolleyes

only takes like 2 taos, 400 crimson woods and a lot of other stuff Cool

I assume that the eggs dropping things at a godly droprate IS a glitch because, honestly, has anyone ever seen a drop rate like that EVER in maple? AND kept permanently?

If i try to make money, i don't. I've lost a lot training here even when i get massive scroll drops. They just don't help me at all. But IF, for some reason, that the eggs are fixed to a normal droprate, what would be wise mesos wise to do to save money? cause i apparently can't Frown

Not too great for lower levels though. That extra 20 levels makes a heavy impact on your damage at level 80.

most people with a Rain/Erupt build should stay at Wolf Spiders til about 85 to 90, and i would recomend at least max Rain/Erupt at lvl 0 to start training at typhons.

As for the stuff needed for the Arcanan (sp?) bow, the hardest will probably be either the taos or the wood. The wood is farmable, the taos ill probably have to buy.

If anything, the Taos are more farmable than the wood. You can actually train at Firebrands somewhat, but with the woods you have to be actively looking for them.

Pretty much you trick your entire system into thinking another font is that font.

MS uses Arial, and it reads that arial from your computer. So if you go to your comp's font folder and make, lets say, rename the Comic Sans file 'Arial', all programs that use Arial will now use Comic Sans (including MS).

There's a guide floating around the internet. I did it once, but it messed badly with the cash shop (and I now assume mts), not to mention my word editor always opened with Comic Sans, which my teachers did not like xD

To rename it you have to use a program called FontEditor I think.
