Normal/Rare/Epic/Unique Items

3. If it comes to KMS[Not Test Server], the scrolls might be NX.

Poor people will get stronger too. Rich people will mass scroll items and sell off their items that didn't work out too well. Those are still better than poor person items. Like when hammers came out and you could trade your 6 attack unhammered for a 8 att hammered (made up example).

Why would this make people leave maple? It seems fun to try these scrolls if they're somewhat easely available.

The scrolls are sold from an NPC. They never said anything about magnifying glasses being in pot shops for testing purposes, meaning there's a high chance it will just be from pot shops. (which is great)

I wish they would just remove the chance of the item breaking but make the scrolls really rare but drop from mobs. Blowing up weapons is always the worst thing to happen to the economy, but nexon likes doing it because it means players have to shell out more money to get stronger.

Or more like their way of keeping the economy stimulating. If the supply of godly weapons had no risk to it, prices will be relatively low to what a godly weapon is now. With this, there will always be someone booming their weapon in hopes of hitting it really big, so they have a demand for more weapons. Bigger risk than cursed scrolls at the higher levels, but a really really high reward rate. Who wouldn't want a weapon even godlier than a White Scrolled Hammered weapon?

I hated white scrolls because they meant getting literally perfect items was feasible, if you had lots of money.

This kinda removes that cap on stats - you can keep upgrading until you get that 10 star unique, and there's no cash shop cheat to get it instantly.

Cue white scroll cube! Cash item that prevents destruction!

I thought the same thing until I started making, and eventually finished my own perfect weapon. Now I'm like "Crap it's going to explode when I use these scrolls on it". I guess we'll all be going back to spamming level 100 weapons with 30s, and then these scrolls if they aren't impossibly rare/expensive.

I hate MORE chance upgrades. I didn't like scrolls already, but now if this fails, it's breaks the item too? What were they thinking? It's like getting a good weapon is just playing the lottery, no skill or hunting required. I hope they change it.

So only that rank reset cube is NX, right?

So, question here. When this came out over there, were all pre-existing items marked as "normal", or were some randomly labeled as "unidentified"? What I mean to say is, are these ranks something default with the items just like stats that are randomly created for drops, which would apply to all or only new items that drop; or are all existing and dropping items ranked "normal" until whatever that scroll is used on them to give them the "improved" ranks.

Even if you don't use them, you'll have a better weapon than the majority of players... you could use them on other items. +x% stats is the same no matter what equip it's on. It's not like everybody's gonna suddenly have a +70 atk weapon.

I know they arent CS items for KMS but there is No way GMS will do that. If anything it will be a CS exclusive item where they will range from 2100- 5500 NX depending on whether they are Low Grade or Super High Grade.

Is there a limit of how many new attributes can be added ? The most I've seen is 5 different attributes.

I don't believe this will happen. Tespia has a very high drop rate, and if they wanted them to be dropped by monsters in the official server then they wold probably just make them drop from monsters in Tespia, too. Not like they'd be rare in Tespia, anyways.

Anyways, assuming the stuff pertaining to this stays in pot shops, I'm kind of excited. I have over 20 purple surfboards stocked up that I was going to use to scroll a good one, but they might actually be more useful to just mass scroll with these things, cheaper too.

It's not like it requires any skill at all in Global as it is now anyway. Getting a "perfect" weapon is only about shelling out mesos, NX and most likely a shitload of real mony in the process. I'm cheering for any update destroying the current situation where some people have weapons that is so beefed it's not even comparable to what should be possible, where they run around acting as if they are the cream of the server they play on. This update might not make them weaker, but hahahah, they wont have "perfect" weapons anymore and I'm feeling smug about that.

This entire update takes things too far. Scrolls that don't use slots, have a chance to add ridiculous stats (a +6 192 atk sword...? +4% total dmg? +8% dex? >_>) but every scroll has a 100% rate to blow up your item if it fails? Self HB/SE/Haste, everyone having magic door? Come on. Can't wait to see maple a year from now. The best thing Nexon could do for this game is just forget this patch ever existed and move on. Signature skills should stay with their respective classes and the last thing we need is more cursed scrolls, especially ones that don't use up any slots. Well, that's my opinion, anyway.

I don't really see how the categorization of a weapon as 'perfect' makes a difference.

Right now a decent end game weapon for an average player is only about 15-20 attack lower than a perfect one, and you can't go better than that no matter how much money you have.
But the absurdly low chance of all these scrolls succeeding and their destruction rate on top of the fact you have to risk them on already scrolled items means that the cut off point for the average player compared to someone who can afford to put billions, tens of billions or even hundreds, into a weapon will be much, much more significant than 15-20 attack.

If you call an extra ~20 attack "So beefed it shouldn't be possible" then boy, this new system is going to be rough on you.

20 attack more? The average player might not even have a weapon with all slots worked with 60%s, and not to mentioned they are most likely unhammered. Your assumption of what's average seems with kind words way off.
But my point about having a "perfect" weapon was not about their damage output, as you say, it's not ALL that big of a difference. It was more about the elitism some, if not most, of them wield against the common folk. Surely their attitude won't change with this new pomegranate, but I find it amusing the label perfect will be lifted from them. I find pleasure in small things.

Meh, I meant the average end game player.

Sure it's not easy to get something 20 attack off of perfect, but if you make it to fourth job and/or bossing level it's not particularly difficult either. It certainly won't take any more effort than training at that level in any case.

My main concern is that these scrolls will have a bigger impact on item than current scrolls do, and that there are no non-exploding alternatives to them. We might be returning to using 60s for our endgame weapons to get rid of the slots and get some cheap attack, so we can try to land as many of these upgrade scrolls as we can. I was never a fan of the idea of making perfect weapons and didn't like what white scrolls added to the game, but that doesn't mean I think it's a good idea to skullfuck the entire 5 year old upgrade system with one patch. I'm hoping these new scrolls will be properly balanced and hopefully less explosive before they reach the live servers.

Potential scrolls and Enhancing are pretty fair. It's a test of luck since the chance of succession is lowered after every star is added. Keep in mind the boom rate is 100%.

What if you dont get it? A rich man can turn poor.
What if they do? You can only be so strong.
My opinions on this?
For a reverse aeas staff, 160+ matk was though as decent. Now? You can make 235 magic attack staffs? Is this bullcrap? If you thought your old staff made you look strong, wait till this patch is implemented!
Paladins? PINEAPPLE THEM AND THEIR 199k! Wait till i do 120k+ per swing with brandish on my hero! NightLords? The weapon attack formula would love this! Same with corsairs! BMs? Less damage for them! They have a lot of WATT already! And a lot more...
Really, with a system as unacceptable as this, furthering the gap between the poor and the rich, i believe:
They need to either:
1. Remake the scroll system
2. Nerf bosses; its going to be way to easy to kill even major bosses? 30 second zakum runs anyone?
3. Remake skills to fit the new damage.
4. Bring up the the damage cap. Paladins were supposed to be balanced, thats why the damage cap went up. What now? You see 193 attack 2 handed swords? Herohood baby!
Or even all of them!
To me, i personally beleive this new as unacceptable. Maybe mine is a little exaggerative to you guys, but i certainly don't. I hate this system and believe korea needs to close tespia and forget ths ever happened. The tides have turned with this release....

The scrolling system is turned upside down.

Actually, 1 handed can be potentially better... Shields can get buffs that 2 handed users can't. In fact, shields become useful now.

Try to give this a chance first, I say. You overlooked some stuff. Also, may I remind you you need to have all the slots used first? The chances to have a proper item are very slim. It just ups the limits on greatly scrolled stuff, and gives a second chance at failscrolling.
