Evan is not one of the Five Heroes !?

Hazzy Wrote:He looks old and worn, not beaten up. Same look to the Aran Memory maps, so I'm interested in where they go from there.

That image also reminds me of the Cygnus Dragon creature thing. Wonder if there's any connections, or if I'm just drawing something out of nothing.
Those are past-Rien tiles and objects, so they wouldn't be seen anywhere in the present. I'm sure the map name would indicate it, but there's not much reason to check as that's 99% certain to be in the past.

I'm not sure that Spadow's entry really proves the OP's claim. I mean, just because they start out slightly differently doesn't prove anything. There's a lot of room for clarification, anywho. Either way, Nexon is DEFINITELY opening themselves up for a "Master" race (who may all come from different humble beginnings) for each class. Just because they're not related in one way doesn't mean they won't make one for each of them.

Yea, I assumed that. I was curious as to what that Dragon was doing in Rein pre-Black Mage Curse.

I agree with this. It would be incredibly stupid to have all of them be sealed away since the past like being "frozen in the ice" and be magically discovered: I'm glad this class, Hero or not related to the original five heroes, didn't use that plot idea. You know, I wonder if the farmer character is the reincarnation or some sort of descendant of the dragon's former partner during the time when the Black Magician ruled over most of the Maple World, meaning that the character had a Hero bloodline; or that the dragon was looking for a new partner to prepare before the Black Magician arrived in the Maple World again due to the death of a former Hero partner in the past, making this farm boy into a Hero. Those would both work nicely as to bringing this class back to the Maple world.

There's just one thing I'm not sure of: if the Arans with the other Heroes were so close to defeating the Black Magician and the Arans were frozen away, what stopped the other Heroes from killing or totally defeating the Black Magician?

I think that in this case, Mir was the actual hero. There's no proof that all of the heroes were human. So if Mir was the hero, that beaten up image of it makes it pretty obvious what happened. I think it would make a lot of sense for one of the heroes to be a dragon. Humans aren't the only ones who want to protect the mapleverse, the halfrings and faeries are proof of that.

Assuming Mir is one of the heroes, than the baby dragon (growing more powerful, of course) would obviously be the successor to that role. Evan is just his/her trainer or companion.

I'm pretty sure that the human wouldn't even exist if it wouldn't take so much work for Nexon to add new "skeletons" for characters. We have the human one which is what everything is built around. Imagine having to do that for other playable character-types? The human is just a vessel to bypass that creation, the one you're really playing as is meant to be the dragon.

I once suggested that it would be neat to be able to play as like a bear or something to either Isaac or Fiel and they quickly shot down that idea based on the fact that the game is built around the current character models.

My best guess is that this is based on or pretty much like the Eragon storyline.

[SPOILER=In case you haven't read yet]Eragon, a farmer boy who shares the same name as one of the Dragon Riders, is chosen by Saphira while she is still in her dragon egg. Saphira is one of the last dragons remaining, all of which were descendants of the original dragons.

By dragonproxy he is one of the heroes.

Quests of note:
Quote:- Let's heroes are: Mir, level 18 or more
- A puppet master I 1: a loose doll, level 32 or more
- Back the herbs: a loose doll, level 32 or more
- Join a secret organization Condition 1: a loose doll, level 36 or more
- Join a secret organization Condition 2: a loose doll, level 36 or more
- Onyx Dragon Study: Heinz, level 41 or more
- Join a secret organization permit a loose doll, a level 46 or more
- A secret organization first mission: the secret brick, level 46 or more
- Another clue about the Onyx Dragon: Heinz, level 51 or higher
- Secret Missions The second group: the black shadow, over level 57
- Black Keys pass: dark shadows, more than 57 levels
- Questions about secret organizations: Mir, more than 57 levels
- 5th group secret mission: yibeheu, level 70 or more
- A dangerous feeling: Mir, level 70 or more
- Sleeping dragon's voice: Mir, level 70 or more
- In the past, Onyx Dragon, Black Mage: ahpeurien, level 70 or more
- Want to avoid the truth: Mir, level 70 or more
- Anger: Mir, level 70 or more
- The hero of the Succession: ahpeurien, level 200 and above

The only thing I can deduce from it is that at one point, Evan will be duped to join the Black Shadow/Wing, (the ones that the Cygnus are fighting against as well as the ones trying to stop Aran) but eventually realizes the truth.

I just wouldn't believe Nexon would have that short of an attention span.

"Hey we're making these Heroes, here's Aran, o and now we're doing something completely different, here's a new mage, we'll get back to these heroes eventually."

New classes just seem like too big an addition to jump around with.
I know, I know, it's Nexon I shouldn't expect common sense.

The story is getting a lot clearer. This is the direction I wanted my other thread to take.

I think that the Evan indeed is one of the 5 heroes who fought against the Black Mage (I'm actually 99% sure because of that image of the map with the tent where the Aran was and the dragon in it).

I now know that the dragon is just a successor of Mir, the old dragon who fought against the Black Mage. It also looks like it got beaten up by him, after seeing its state in the map with the tent.

The boy probably is another successor of the old dragon master who fought with Mir. If Mir fought the Black Mage alone at that time, why would he need a master now?

I wonder what that map with the tent and the new Rien maps added with the latest patch are used for.

k,

1) The big dragon appears beaten up in old Rien, with the same scenario Aran did.

2) They also added new maps to present Rien which include the big dragon behind a giant ice wall.

3) Evan have a crapload of quests relating to the Black Magician.

It's clear that they're part of the legendary heroes story, just not 100% reusing the Aran story "a hero frozen in ice", instead they're doing something just SIMILAR. But it is a "legendary job". No doubt.

My guess is that the big dragon was the one actually trapped in ice this time. And Evans are descendants/random fated guys chosen by the dragon descendants.

Im thinking these guys will all have different stories. Like mentioned before, it would be boring if the "Frozen in Ice" thing repeats itself.
Im thinking it will be different characters with completely different pasts joining in for one final epic battle to drive back the Black Mage.

Aran - Long lost Hero frozen in ice who wants revenge.
Evan - A little boy who grows up with a legendary dragon to finally fight the Black Mage.
??? - An old king sealed in his castle who finally breaks out (Aran concept lol)
??? - Girl from the future who travels back in time to prevent the world to be taken over by the Black Mage.
??? - Angel that descends from the Maple gods to help the other Heroes.

Excellent

Edit: What if Mir is like a Phoenix, she rebirths. And i thought Evan was the name of the Dragon, and not the boy?

I hope at least ONE of these classes' story isn't so "chivilrous" and "Oh! We are the legendary heroes, we must battle the black magician! blah blah blah-" ...

L> thief or pirate that's just in it for the money... :\

L> No more cliches

For the pirate I think it would be awesome if it was Kyrin's dad. Revived by the five job masters (Athena, Kyrin, Grendel, Dark Lord, and Dances) but without any memory of what occured. His quests would be mostly regaining his memories and finally revenge.

I mean, if he was friends with Athena Pierce there's always a chance he is super old too, which would make it possible for him to be one of the 5 heroes. He could be the captain of the ship seen in Aran gameplay, haha.

His name is Testonen, or something.

That would totally ruin the sequence of classes being named "XXan".

Doesn't the Evan class start with a 2 in it's job IDs (2000 to so on). Wouldn't that mean it's of the same faction of Aran, system wise?
