Haunted House 2, I had high hopes for, but sadly, the PQ is disappointing and lackluster- it honestly sucks having to party with random people hoping they're competent and polite about this, and the boss honestly is a let down for requiring 3 people to take down. The way the actual storyline is executed is awkward. In contrast to the other one which somewhat plays out like a detective story and solving the problem, this one feels like almost raw questing with almost 0 storyline in the actual dialogue; but left for the player to guess and attempt to interpret. So cool, let'sdoquestsandgetcoolchair,ya? Well, as for the actual chair, I'm pretty fond of it, although something about the design left something to be desired for me. The way Olivia looks in the chair is awkward- her neck is HUUGE and her arms are totally out of proportions, which bothers me a lot. Pretty much, I can sum it up like this: it looked like the Olivia boss given the same treatment as Violet Beauregarde in Charlie in the Chocolate Factory when she gets turned into a giant blueberry, and has to get juiced; leaving her with the long, thin body with lanky arms and legs (much like a character design by Clamp). I'm glad the Halloween pots made a return, so I added them to my collection of random Event Items to hoard as a collector that I lost from the prior Mansion events of '07. Also, the new monster maps seem okay for training.

Malaysia- I've only really done Lam's quests; decent rewards and not that hard, I'm particularly happy I managed a 30% Claw ATK Scroll out of the first one. Haven't fought with Targar or Scarlion.

Haven't fought with Balrog yet.

Dark Tokens are obnoxiously difficult to get, and promote KSing among most of the boss maps. Normal people who are doing the quest are going to have major difficulty during this event, I'd imagine; but that's why I'm glad I finished all of them. Getting the Belt got obnoxious after Day One where Jr. Newties dropped them, and I missed that one and only chance due to not being able to log on that day. I've managed to scrounge up about 70 tokens currently; I'm hoping I can hit 150+enough to scroll it once in the last days this event's got left.

God, I hated the Witch Tower JQ. Around where that last key is located on Normal, I've always made it there as my furthest; because I always keep failing the epic leap of faith around that part. I wanted to do the related quests there and hope for a Pink Bean Hat, but it's been too frustrating after wasting countless hours and failing around the same place at most, I haven't even managed to beat it once.

Witches Special Brew: Awesomeness.

Permanent Cash Shop Equips: Permanent Frameless Glasses? Thanks Nexon!

I'm going to have to agree with Spidey; and say t hat the stuff in the data is the most interesting. This whole business with 24 stat giving hats and Aran seems like it could be interesting; plus we've even loads of Aran stuff in the data now. Overall, an okay; and somewhat entertaining patch.

It was meh for me. Sort of like being given a lollypop then swiftly being slapped in the face. So what I’m saying was it had its ups and its downs.

I can live with the glitched tokens thing and all that stuff. I was just really disappointed with the Mansion. It wasn't worth the two year wait compared to the original.

I haven't checked out Malaysia at all yet well in GMS since I haven't had the time.

All I've really done is buy a 6 speed witch belt for my Paladin and some 100% belt scrolls for later (gonna get a red/black on my NL at some point I hope) and a Transparent Hat.

I haven't managed to fight any of the new bosses cause I'm not online enough. But whatever, they're here to stay, it can wait.

I think I like this patch, because Master Adventurer Medal is out now, so I don't have to do much quests to get Quest Specialist Medal.

It sucks that Scarlion and Targa hats are nerfed though, because I thought they had 18 of all stats.

I liked the patch in some ways, but NEXON always screw things up.

Haunted House 2? I was expecting much more than a stupid storyline which seems written by a 10-year-old kid and can't even be compared to the Jonas Prendergast one and a stupid party quest which can't even be considered a party quest because it doesn't even have stages: you just go there, click the mirror, write Olivia, kill the boss, and goodbye. Doesn't make sense or anything, plus it's boring as hell. But I already made a thread on that so let's not start the same discussion again.

Malaysia was pretty nice - I've been expecting it for a while now, and we finally got it. Though it's a "nerfed" version of it, because the maps aren't like the original version, and I think some quests about killing the bosses are missing (?).

Balrog is a pretty good boss. I enjoy doing Balrog runs with my friends and all. But, as always, NEXON screwed it up, and forgot to add some NPCs. How can you forget something as important as that?? Whatever..

About Dark Tokens, the event was a total failure because of them dropping by Jr. Newties. They should have removed all the tokens / belts in people's inventories during the server maintenance which fixed the bug, and everyone would have been happy. Not many people would have been mad about that because, you know, it's not like one week passed from the patch when they fixed that bug, but only one day or two, I think. Not like people would have lost much from that. But NOOOOOOOOO, there HAVE to be people who abused this glitch and made billions out of all the belts they sold. GG NEXON, this is totally fair.

I love the Witch Tower event. I've done it many times on KMS and even got the hat there. I know the tactic required to do HARD mode so I can do it pretty well. I did it 5 times for the hat, once every day, when I could've just done the NORMAL mode.
You'd think: NEXON didn't screw up here, right?

Wrong. In KMS' Witch Tower event there was a nerfed version of Targa at the end map of the Jump Quest. The version of the nerfed Targa depended from your level. So, for example, if you were level 10, then the nerfed version of Targa with very little HP appeared, and so on.
These nerfed versions of Targa dropped many useful items as good scrolls, useful potions as elixirs, and so on. On GMS, they weren't added. It would have been too good to be nice, true, NEXON America? They were added in the data but their strings weren't even translated, so it makes me think that they purposely didn't add them, or that there was a bug that didn't make them spawn and they didn't even notice that they were supposed to be there. *sigh*

About the permanent CS items, they're great. I'm looking forward to buy them as soon as possible.

This patch just makes me think about HOW MUCH we need Tespia at the moment. NEXON can't do something right: every. single. patch. has. bugs. Some of them major ones (like the Dark Token bug), some of them minor ones, like NPC animations and such (in this case, the 0.77 patch brought BOTH at the same time - e.g.: Gaga in Malaysia, just look at his animations, and he shouldn't even be there in the first place, as the event didn't even start yet).

Well, this one was pretty big, so it was to be expected, but again, if they opened Tespia and managed it well, with MWLB-like submissions, and if it was as hard as getting in the MWLB program to get chosen, it would indeed work A LOT better than just by recruiting 5000 random people, trust me. But oh well, NEXON will not listen so we'll just have to get used to bugged patches.

Id say overall the patch was ok.

Witch Belts. This was an ok event, but it really brought the worst out of maplers as basically the only way to get the ATT belt, and then scroll it three times is to be stronger than everyone else, which automatically shuts out alot of people. Im still trying to pull together enough tokens for 2 belt scrolls, just 2, and i havnt even gotten the first scroll. The tokens really should have dropped from all mobs, or at least select mobs in each area with area bosses dropping more often than the mobs. The belts themselves should also have only 1-2 slots on them, making it fair for more people. There is already a restriction on getting belt above your level, so that also helped.

Malaysia. Personally my addition, as it has allowed me to level up my dawn warrior safely and fast. The first quest for the Scarlion and Targa fight was nice as it brought in more scrolls that are rare for the most part. I have yet to actually fight them, but i plan to try and be the main attacker in a guild effort once we have enough people on and high leveled enough (my DW killing).

Balrog Boss. Also a nice addition, it gives lower levels a challenging boss to fight that also doesnt require much in the way of pre-coordination.

Gacha Box Event. Im getting sickenly tired of these money grabbing events, specially after they raised the prices on the keys to open the boxes. What ever happened to having events that gave decent rewards to everyone that didnt require you to buy something with real money? It gets pretty sad when you have to spend money on a free game to actually take part in an event.

Gold Richie Event. Somewhat nice, but the compass pieces need a little higher drop rate. I could spend a few hours on my BM and still end up a few short of one or another. In reverse to my last statement, this event actually does give some nice stuff (Belt 100% and 60% scrolls). But due to the low chance of the pieces dropping, it is a low chance of getting to par take more than a few times without killing alot of mobs everyday.

Witch Tower JQ. There was a JQ event added? a_@ ( i know about it, just really wasnt interested)

Erasers For Chairs. Stupidest idea for an event: Have chairs that EVERYONE will want, that uses items (three different and REAL items) that nearly dont exist anymore. This could have had more planning, and could have used variation rather than erasers everytime. (why not three different bot catching mobs ETC drop?)

Family Rep Change. Absolutely hated this, it ruins it for anyone that has an inactive family member. (I have a priest that hasnt been on in months)

Overall, it was ok, some parts were great, others needed work. Im more disappointed in the fact that we havnt heard a single word about Krakia or the next Masteria expansion. The addition of the "home made" low level quests will be great, not just for the awesome stat-ed armor set either.

I can't say I enjoyed it, but I was definitely impressed with this month's patch. I'm glad Nexon chose to expand on the Haunted House and make Halloween on Maple a bit more interesting than it was the year before, and Malaysia seems like a nice addition; I haven't been able to test myself at Scarlion/Tigra yet. Like Felix said, the new Soul Driver rapes everything. I'm glad I got to enjoy the last 9 levels of my Soul Master tearing Skelegons apart.

Permanent CS items had to be the biggest surprise, and even if it's just an event, you know there's gonna be "GETCHER PERMA CS ITEMS HERE" events every couple of weeks. Biggest step forward Nexon's made in a pretty long time. I knew it would happen eventually, but I never thought it'd be this soon.

It was... ok. I'm kind of bugged about the Witch Belt dilemma, but I did manage to make an easy 50 mil off an Olivia Chair from Haunted House 2. The actual updates for the haunted house were mediocre, though.

Malaysia isn't of any particular interest to me, since I can't train there and Scarlion Helms haven't drastically lowered the prices of Zakum helms or anything.

However, I do appreciate all the new medals; my Veteran Adventurer Medal gives a great HP boost. As for Balrog... hell, I haven't even tried to kill him. He's wayyy too hard for it to be worth it, from what I've heard.

The NX events have not affected me at all, as usual. I'm not a big NX buyer, so I don't care about the Gachapon boxes and chairs and permanent CS items.

Typhoon Wrote:Hated it.
If you weren't able to kill newts, on for the first little bit of the patch, level 130+, or live on the other side of the world, you were forced to buy a witch's belt pretty much. And meso buyers basically wiped the floor with normal players pink scroll/white scroll wise, inflating them to well above what they're worth.

This. Couldn't have said it better. That whole fiasco with newts dropping tokens was just f'ucking stupid. I was looking forward to getting an attack belt. And now, there's no hope seeing that everyone and their mother camps every single boss in the game now. And if that's not bad enough each boss drops a pomegranate-tastic amount of them, making belts hardly worth it now. And I'm NOT spending 800m+ on a good one either. One, because they're not f'ucking worth 800m, and two, I could scroll many dex equips for that much money that would easily trump an 8 attack deep purple belt. I wanted one, but now, I couldn't hardly care less.

Oh, and don't even get me started on the CWKPQ/Typhon glitch. I'm and sick and f'ucking TIRED of people getting banned for no goddamned reason. This pomegranate is getting old, fast. In just the past week, I've had 4 people on my buddy list that received week bans for "harassment" and "hacking" when they've all been playing since beta, and stayed legit/never pestered anyone. This bulls'hit of people getting banned out of nowhere is really starting to piss me off. So, all in all, I think it's pretty well understood that I hated this patch. They should have stuck with the Loki Chests and the Pumpkin Vault instead of copy/pasting faulty code from God knows where. People getting banned for going into certain maps/parts of the game is ridiculous beyond all compare.
