Gachapon Boxes: could it be that..

GlowingOne Wrote:You spend way too much money on maplestory.
800 keys sold = 1,440,000 nx cash = 1440 dollars
Assuming you sold it for a 1k nx = 9m mesos rate
You've made about 7.2billion mesos

now my real question, was it worth it spending 1440 dollars for some virtual money?

Clearly doesn't know who he's talking to, lol.

HeroTex probably is the richest person in all MapleStory.

I still don't know how was he able to get all that money / NX through merchanting.. I mean.. it's not that it's easy as hell to get that much..

But yeah, I still think that NEXON probably changed the rates.

As the old saying goes It takes money to make money, and when you have something like 200 bill in meso across all servers and 10,000k NX its not surprising he is able to make more.

Having money certainly helps, but in a game like maple you can get enough money without too much trouble. Just sell letters or witch belt scrolls for mesos, if you're dedicated you can make a pretty nice amount in a few days. It also helps being dedicated to one character, that can area boss easily or hunt for PoTs in the time temple. There's a ton of ways to make mesos, so I really don't think saying HeroTex is rich because he's rich is a fair claim. Learn the prices, learn predict future content and its affect on the maple economy (as far as reasonable, since you never know what Nexon might stick in their gacha boxes), learn to use NX as a currency in the same way as mesos, and you are set to become as rich as you have the time/dedication for. Of course a bit of luck can go a long way too, so stick to it and eventually it'll pay off.

Regular merchanting is the little money. The big money comes from market exploits such as the typhoon egg's scroll drop, agent earrings, dark tokens drop glitch, maker and crystals, icicles for 2k, etc.

11 attack. Yeah it's been a very good and very lucky patch to me (only one belt was sold over 1b though) Biggrin. However I've been well-off for a long time before this patch, and the ideas behind what I said do work. MTS/mesos paid for the karmas.

The intended ones can usually be predicted, the unintended ones were fixed - some faster than others. The key is to keep your eyes on the new content and predict how it's going to affect the prices/items, and plan accordingly.

Speak for yourself. There's a group pf "PixelXXXX" characters in Ghettocan, and my friend monitered their sales (DM Scrolls, Orbis Tower Scrolls, NLC Scrolls, ect.). Each store makes approximately 15m per day, and that's just off of little items, not including when they sell big items, like scrolled weapons.

Merchanting just needs a knowledge of what people will pay for an item, what is easily able to sell for a lot, having patience to wait until certain moments to use something, and a hint of luck. Many people got worthless erasers last GachaBox event, and they were worth 500k back then. Now they're worth upwards of 20m thanks to the random chair event. Also, you need to expect things like the whole diamond hoarding maker concept. Everybody thought they would be worth a LOT, but due to saturation, they went to around 10m for an advanced. Now they're starting to rise because the hoarding has finally started running dry. It's the same thing that's happening to Scarly and Targar helms now, since they've dropped to around 70m for an average one, and zhelms have skyrocketed.

She did not mean your "feats", she was pointing out how, with a poorly written post, you claimed good understanding of english was essential. One can argue that inferior writing skills is not the same as good understanding of a language, but it surely is kind of like firing torpedos at your own ship, it won't win the war.

That's exploiting people who don't know anything about prices for the sake of making money, which makes you a jerk. I never said that making 15m a day was impressive, I just said that they manage to make 15m a day off of literally nothing but crappy items like dead mine scrolls. And people like you who exploit the lower leveled people who don't have any idea what they have make me sick.

And they make a total of 7.1b per year if you total all of their normal sales, which excludes when they sell larger items for the amounts you are talking about.

Okay. They are professional at this, they work hard and earn 15m a day with regular merchanting. Each one of the things I mentioned before (and many others I forgot) can easily land you 1 or 2 billion in a couple of days, and such chances appear almost every patch (sometimes even two at one patch). Lets take this patch, for example:
1.Gacha boxes and 50% scrolls (see Combattente) - at least 1 billion of profit
2.Olivia glitch\chair
3.Epic eraser inflation
4.Newties dark token glitch - probably the most effective one, netted some people over 5 bil.

If you're always ready to be one of the first people to abuse these things when a patch comes out, you can easily make a few billion mesos every patch, without even working hard.
