Welcome to SP, beware Troll-fags, they're everywhere. Everywhere. Other than that, enjoy your stay here, don't be a stranger.

Chihara Nethial Wrote:Thanks for your heartfelt advice. I will take all of it to heart when I finally make my character.

From the advice I've been given, it seems like either a Bandit or a Brawler suits me more. Also, from what I've read, I'm going to steer clear of Assassin, because it seems like that's a major pocketsink, even more worse so than Bandit seems to be (unless of course, I get outside help from someone, but I'm not counting on it).

Brawler seems like the kind of melee fighter that gets down and dirty with his fists, so that's also a viable option.

I do have one small concern though: From what I've read, Bandits use two types of weapons: Daggers that rely on Strength, and Daggers that rely on Luck.

What are each of the stat types, and what do they affect? You guys have a knack for deciphering the game mechanics, you can tell me. Oh, and feel free to throw a bunch of math at me, it'll help in the long run.

Continuing on with my above concern, I'd like to know something: If I decide to become a Bandit, which Dagger type would favor a fresh, out-of-the-ground newbie like me?

Alright, I think I've said enough for now.

I guess after all is said and done, I'm going to choose Bellocan as my starting server. I'm probably going to take forever to come up with a name, so bear with me.

Shadowers are expensive as hell in general. Brawlers are extremely cheap.

That said, str bandits are always better than luck bandits nowadays. If you really want to know why, it's because dragon khanjars (high attack shield that requires a good chunk of str to use) is cheap as hell.

You should browse youtube for shadower and buccaneer videos. There's a lot of good ones. (and bad)

Welcome to MapleStory. And Southperry. The land of Poast, Pineapple, and Chin. Oh, and Goggleemoticon.

Consider being a Gunslinger, very fast, but not really the strongest. Other options could be Assasin or Brawler. Brawler isn't very fast, but we need more Brawlers. Goggleemoticon

You should really play on Khaini, all of the best SouthPerricans are there so if you ever need help or decide you're going to stick around here...

I read top to bottom, and had not seen evidence of him getting banned at the time of Poast'ing that. So bugger off.

He already said he's joining Ghettocan, lay off Khainians.

Also, STR Bandits are more powerful, but thieves in general cost a lot.

Don't let the cost put you off. You can be well-equipped enough to train and have fun without spending a fortune. It's just the investments like a scrolled Attack Shield and an HTP that some people deem necessary to play the character that are expensive.

What Dusk said is true, and as you make friends in-game, you should be able to go around and level quickly, no matter what type of damage you're doing. I must advise you though to stay away from an area called Ludibrium Party Quest, unless you are within a group of experienced players who have made a second account to do it, or you will lose all hope in this game.

In the long run, Strength Bandits are more powerful (starting at level 120 with the high base attack the Dragon Khanjar shield comes with, although there is also a regular Khanjar at level 80). I would recommend staying Dexless until you are able to get a good Dex dagger or are able to equip a Dragon Khanjar.

You just sit back and enjoy DFO for now Tobi. I'm planning on being able to help him on my Gunner and Cleric, and then possibly my Dawn Warrior if he gets high enough. I don't have a single character over level 50 besides my main, so I can level up my Dawn Warrior and assist him to 70, if he wants to go that far. After that, I'm sure you could help him. Katie's also helping him as well, and we're gonna show him the best Maple has to offer. Cool
