Maybe start them out with 0.01%, and have chief oblivion guardians have 0.13%, it's just a theory, so I dunno.

Usually I only have to dismount for the boss maps.

If you guys want a semi-accurate count of how many kills on average it takes to get a Piece of time from the monsters in the Oblivion paths, you could accept the Veteran Hunter medal quest, and report the number of pieces of time, and the number of mobs, and what kind you've killed.
So long as you stick to one map for the most part without mixed spawn (no Path of Oblivion 4 training). And make sure you don't count the pieces of time you may get from just walking to where you're training at, or from killing Lyka if you train in Path of Oblivion 5, it should be accurate enough for our purposes. Also, make sure you list what droprate you have (and keep the majority of the killing on that specific droprate).

The reason for this is that Oblivion 4 is for the most part accepted to be easier and faster to traverse than 5, while having very little difference in monster spawn (some OGuardians and EoT, but mostly COGuardians). A lot of people train in Oblivion 4, so finding the average PoT per kill for the map (not by monster) is more helpful. I also DID note what droprate I was on.

MasPan Wrote: Imo, finding an average for a single monster is more helpful than finding an average for one map with mixed spawn. Because not everyone trains at OB4. I'm training at OB5 for 1 main reason: OB4 has no safe spot for mules. OB4 is indeed a better map to cycle when you solo, however when you split the map, OB5 becomes quite easy to cycle. I'd help out, but since I don't solo here I can't count my kills. On average I find 7-15 PoT per 3 hours of 2x drop + 1 hour of 4x drop at OB5.

I'm training at OB5 for 1 main reason: OB4 has no safe spot for mules. Far more people use OB4 for hunting PoT and training than OB5, simply put. The most common answer to the question "Which MAP drops the most pieces of time" is Oblivion 4. The droprate for the monsters will be very close either way and mostly insignificant. The goal is simply to determine average # of guardian kills per PoT (ignoring EoT as being mostly inconsequential) in Oblivion 4 to determine precisely how much of an advantage one has farming there vice Memory 5.

Much appreciated, what I would really like to know is that if I bought a 2x drop cards with the 2x xp, would it profit me more than just going there on 1x? (Assuming I bought the NX through MTS)
Keep up the log.

Maths:
Day 1- 1 piece every 556.5 kills, .17969% chance Day 2- 1 piece every 1173 kills, .085251% chance Combined: 1 piece every 864.75 kills, .11564% chance Every time Mas updates, I'll add it into the average. I think after 10-20 days it should start to stabilize somewhere from .1-.2%. |
