Unwashed ranged classes are a waste of time?

I still laugh at ranged people who are too proud to put points into HP (not washing, just put them in) and then complain about said lack of HP. By 140-150 you already have insane DPS, it won't kill you to put in more HP.

I had over 40 points unwashed (until I had a stable income), and was fully prepared to keep them that way until I could afford to wash it out. I also STILL have 77 base DEX for the acc boost, despite having 194 acc without a maple weapon. Yes, I could be stronger. Does it matter? Not by much - in the end it's only a fragment of my damage that will be affected, and even then it won't impact my exp gain or boss killing time much at all (unless it means the difference between # of hits to kill on Crimson Guardians. Currently this number is 4-6, 90% or so of the time 5, the other 10 an even split between 4/6. That would mean I'd need a guaranteed 40k minimum Fury to always 4 hit, and that ain't happening for a long time. I'd need a guaranteed 30k minimum to 90% 4 hit, and even that would require at least 10 levels or 7-8 attack to happen. I could wash my DEX to 50-60, lowering my acc to around 175-180, but that's only 5 levels of difference + 2.5 extra points from MW).

TLDR: If you are lacking in a stat, add to it. If adding doesn't help enough, gear for it. Should be easy to gain at least 90 HP from advanced Topaz on boots/overall/weapon for Archers.

I never wore any int equipment to levelup and still don't wear anything because I don't think it's worth the hassle, all I've been leveling up with are the regular int stuff like zakum helm and deputy star/mark of naricain, and I was able to hp wash 30 times and could survive horntail before 150 with just a few hp equipment sub-ins. Now that I got enough hp to solo right pianus without hp equipment sub-ins at like 160, I don't feel that I need any more hp, especially because I don't hang around lyka, PB, etc.

Ew, that's just like saying "Cygnus get 6 AP, so why not put 1 into HP"

Why should we have to treat melee class DPS is a benchmark and lower ourselves to that? Our superior single target damage compensates for our inferior mobbing abilities.

So what if u can't go up against the P bean? That boss is suffering from so many issues I almost do not see it as part of the game?
Horntail? Whats the problem? Even before MoN I just used some HP gear during tail and wings and then went back to my regular stuff. Back then I still needed a few 100 hp clean to be safe from tail and wings. With some flipping and trixing thats very easy to deal with. Now when I have enough HP to HT without any aid, I don't even go there...
So that leaves 1 boss that you would have problems with? MS Japs stuff I'm not even gonna consider because that is just nice looking graphics, and not much else to dance around for.

So in conclusion, no, ranged characters are not pointless without washing. Remember washing is a glitch, or at least very close, and I doubt they design bosses with uberwashing people in mind

I'm personally going to go Bloodmaster. I do hate that I have to wait longer to HT and PB, but oh well. Since, what, half of my single-target DPS comes from Snipe, I might even dedicate a level or two every 10 levels after the 130 - 140 period to dumping AP into HP. I'm not rich enough to HP wash (and I'm not rich enough ingame to buy godly INT gear), but oh well. I've got more than enough HP for the time being (except for those damn Elderwraiths), and I'll probably have more than enough for whatever I do in the future without bleeding money out the ass.

a ranged character that is unwahsed will have about 4.8k hp at 200, that is not enough for pink been.

That's irrelevant, though; one would conclude from all the peaching (I don't mean you specifically) that your "superior single target damage" doesn't compensate at all for your inferior HP. So if you need HP, add to it! It's that simple.

I think that it's just people and their damage-whore-ness that makes people "forget" that HP and MP are stats too.

Not a waste of time per se, but more of an inconvenience. Hell, some people don't even want to be able to boss; maple is fun without bossing too =)

Still glad i added 50 points to HP. Don't have the means to wash it out. So i'll be in the "lol y u has sckzorz damages?" range for a little while longer.

Seriously, nexon put the up arrow near HP for a reason.

With all the crazy equip we have right now I don't think you'll suffer so much from adding AP to HP.

Just add points to HP and merchant for NX later if you want to reset it.

My Corsair had 60 points in HP for a long time and I only reset 30 of them recently due to the AP Reset Sale. I leveled with only 50-60 Int from level 80-120, which is not hard to obtain at all. Adding into HP helped me survive Pianus and tank Pap very early on, making it easy for me to kill those bosses. It did not affect my training speed since I could still 2HKO Skeles with Cannon. Yes, I did eventually invest in Int gear for level 120+ because I intended to reset those blood points eventually. The point is, if you cannot afford to HP Wash, Blood Builds are perfectly viable and they don't reduce your DPS by that much either.

Horntail is survivable with a bit of HP gear (and you don't even need to wear them the whole time) for most unwashed ranged classes. Pink Bean is just a waste of time and money in my opinion. Just because an unwashed ranged class cannot survive past Ariel doesn't mean they suck.

I have a corsair, and noticed my hp was lower than i had wished it to be while training. I, however, have two accounts and two computers, so instead of wasting money/mesos/nx on washing for hp or getting hp gears, i made an HB mule instead. Sure, it has its limitations and cost a little more time, but I've been satisifed with beign able to train with it and i bring it with me when I boss. For the unsoloable bosses, i doubt i need my hb mule with me since I wouldn't go to zakum or horntail without a Dark Knight anyway. I may need to level it some more so it can come pap with me (or for me to kill pap in under 5 minutes lol) but it solves my hp problem for the cases that concern me. Maybe if I get some better gears i'll even put some AP into hp if I feel so inclined.

Even though at times the hp is disheartening, I still hardly find the corsair class a waste of time. Nor any class for that matter (except perhaps the specialty classes like clerriors but that's my opinion), if anything all games are a waste of time, just it's more favorable then sitting around and doing absolutley nothing.

it's OTHER people's Damage whore-ness that keeps us from doing that. Why take Mr. "too poor to wash" who wasted 50 AP in to HP when we have Jimmy Moneybags over here who washed his character 5 ways from Sunday and has 1000 HP more than the other guy without doing crappy damage.

You know what's a really good way to get HP?

Leveling.

22 hp a level... I'm only 1000 hp short for HT. Should just go level up 45 times no problem right.

lol Why do I always get flamed when I try to enlighten and inform people about certain aspects of this game. I need to find some of those rose coloured Goggleemoticon most of you are wearing. Biggrin

It isnt even enough to HT without hp equips, heck even going to Pap with that hp is risky due to the 5k bomb damage, and that's at lv 200.

At least there's some people here that see my point.Rolleyes

People are just apathetic to balance issues, they play the game the way it is and rather take advantage than to make it more fair.

Tack on a mark of naricain and that becomes 5.1k (or arguably glitched +3 horntail pendant's massive defense), almost enough to PB, just basically need one or two equip sub-ins or just a couple of points in hp. Lots of ways to sub in hp equipment while losing just a little bit of dex temporarily, face accessory, hp top/bottom with str on the top to equip your weapon, etc. You also only need the actual hp requirements for horntail and pink bean for quite short amounts of time in both cases.
