Siding with Locked and KhainiWest. It was very immature to go that far on disciplining his daughter. As others have said, this will only hurt their relationship, and she'll most likely rebel even more now. It is important to have some understanding that a teenager is not going to do everything you say, and you can discipline them accordingly if you want. Getting a gun out and proving a point does nothing, but instill fear and make you wonder what else he would do to truly prove a point though. Parenting requires a balance of both tough parenting and being understanding. Going to an extreme like he did, was just wrong.

I have no idea of the entire situation at home, but maybe she is having problems with the stepmother as well. We don't know. However, the father should have been more understanding. Both parties are at fault on this one.
