It's a repeat offence apparently and she publicly posted that pomegranate up on her Facebook and quite possibly embarrassed her family. I think she deserved it.

It's a good lesson. People think they can get away with anything on the internet and she went way beyond just bitching about your parents to her best friends.
He needs to be deputy-sheriff of the internet. Give him a license to just go into kids homes and shoot their computers.

Want it? Earn it. You don't earn it? Don't complain.
But wanting things without earning them, then GETTING things, then COMPLAINING? What is wrong with her? She even had the nerve of having his own father upgrade his laptop. Costing HIM quite a lot of money.
Plus, if the father really knew about computers, he could have saved expensive pieces before making it look closer to a sponge. Or not. Guy seemed pissed enough to not give a damn.

The shooting of the laptop was more than likely a bit uncalled for, but the lesson behind it is justified.
If you're going to disrespect your parents then you deserve to have privileges taken away.
Edit: I feel like I need to make some sort of disclaimer. I would not have personally approached the situation like this, but the luxury of my child having a laptop would have certainly been taken away.

I dont know the whole story but I showed my parents to see what their opinion was about it. They thought it was a little harsh over a rant, which you should let your teens do none the less. I kind of agree it's probably more damaging than lesson learned.

He's being childish about the entire situation. Yes, his daughter insulted her own parents "in private" on facebook. It isn't entirely private, I understand that nor does that point really matter. But he was essentially trying to one-up his own daughter to show superiority. "Oh my daughter told everyone off in her circle of friends about how much she's mad at me? Why don't I make a YouTube video and post it for the entire world to see. That'll show her." He's constantly belittling his daughter, and being down right condescending. Which sure, based on my parents, is actually quite normal. He overexaggerates and brings a gun and shoots his own laptop he paid for to prove a point to his daughter. Instead of just talking to her one on one in her room or something and talk it off like a parent is supposed to do. Parents are supposed to set the example of what to do right, not use childish tactics to prove your dumb ass point.

I absolutely think tough love is good parenting. Being your kids' friend just encourages them to be a little pomegranatehead. Being indifferent just makes your kids seek attention elsewhere or by lashing out. Being a hardass teaches them that there are repercussions for pineappleing up.
This particular incident may be a little overboard because talking pomegranate about your parents is commonplace for teenagers but at the same time, I empathize with the guy because he probably felt humiliated and disrespected by his daughter, and ESPECIALLY after he helped her with the computer the day before.
You'll never meet a well-balanced adult who didn't have at least one hardass parent, and usually that ends up being the father.
Beyond that, you're only seeing what he shows here, which is venting in the same way that his dumb daughter did. I doubt she'll be grounded forever like he says nor will he end up treating her like pomegranate over this. He's mad, and rightfully so.
This will be an important lesson for her. Unfortunately, I doubt anyone else will learn from it except some parents who will try to do something like this but take it even further in a bad way.
Edit: what the pineapple are you talking about Locked? He doesn't belittle her once in that video. He explains what she does that she claims is "so much work" and compares it to what he had to do while growing up. He doesn't call her any names like a spoiled little brat or anything. He's not talking down to her.
He also stated that she has DONE THIS BEFORE and that they've told her to STOP. They HAVE talked to her. She didn't listen.
