What I'm curious to know is how he knew his daughter posted that message in the first place.
I think it's more likely he wants to discipline his daughter than his reputation, and obviously he probably knows his daughter will see the video somehow.
He said he would shoot her laptop the last time she got grounded, so there was that.
He's talking to her directly because it would be weird as hell to say to talk otherwise. "Hey parents, I have this kid named Hannah. She wrote this Facebook message that said blah blah blah blah....wow, so yeah, that's why I'm grounding her.
So folks this is why I'm shooting her laptop. Bam. Bam."
And there's no point having the entire internet know you're tough and cool unless you have serious mental problems, and I'm fairly certain he doesn't.

To me, it seems this guy cares more about his reputation than disciplining his daughter. He says he posted it on her daughter's facebook so other parent's would "learn" to deal with similar issues while her daughter's friends would learn doing something like that can bring concequences. But if that was really the objective of this then why would he address it directly at her daughter? He talks directly to her the whole video even tough she shouldn't be able to watch this. Why was it necessary to say all of that in a video for everyone to watch? Maybe he the kind to supress his feeling deep inside just to act tough and cool in public. Whats the freaking point of shooting her laptop? he trying to send a deeper message maybe?
To me, he is just want to save his reputation, trying to show he has b@lls and no kid will come to mess with him, blood related or not. Also the fact he seems to like weapons goes to show he might be a violent person...
