Yes, you can.
But I think you can just delete a char with a locked equip on it, and it won't even go to storage automatically.

Bah. They're not even acknowledging that hackings are still going on, or offering a discount on item locks (FREE item locks? Are you insane?). I bet they will not respond to that thread in their forums, or at best say that "we are always working to improve security; unfortunately, for security reasons, we cannot provide any details".
