Best way to lock your account now is getting yourself banned... but then again if you are banned too many times I think there's a chance of it being permanent.

I wonder what Nexon's reasoning behind doing this was....or if it was even intentional. This last SC seemed to mess quite a few things up. Hopefully in return they actually fixed a lot of their security holes. Hah, right. They put in some sort of anti-brute force mechanism on their website at least.

I knew this would've happened sooner or later. I knew they would have, for no reason at all, seen it as an "issue" which should've been fixed.
The reality is that it's their HEADS which need to be fixed, though they won't realise that.
Why the hell removing the only safe protection from hackers we have? Do they feel THAT confident about their security? They seriously shouldn't. I say, introduce authenticators at least! Or some sort of way to lock your account directly.. geez.
So, goodbye protection from hackers.
Once again, GOOD JOB NEXON.
Now I'm tempted to never log on my account again.

I guess one way to be safe though we should not have to do this would be get married drop your wedding ring to prevent character deletion lock everything -.-

I thought NExon fixed that so you could get a divorce even without the wedding ring?

Does locking an item prevent an account/character from being deleted?
If so, putting a 1year lock on a Time Travler circlet or something semi-useless like that would be a viable way to save your character and make it so you can still change use your equips as well.

Eh it seems these days most hackers aren't actually "malicious" and go out of their way to delete characters...they just want your pomegranate so they can make a quick buck. They WANT you to restart so they can steal your crap again at a later date.

I have never loved a post so much in my entire life.
Kind of depressin. People were using it as a defense measure, but sure enough, nexon saw a problem with it. Sometimes I wonder where Nexon comes to its conclusions for what it deems as an error and why they are so bent on not telling anyone anything unless they are forced to....

Yes, you can.
But I think you can just delete a char with a locked equip on it, and it won't even go to storage automatically.

Bah. They're not even acknowledging that hackings are still going on, or offering a discount on item locks (FREE item locks? Are you insane?). I bet they will not respond to that thread in their forums, or at best say that "we are always working to improve security; unfortunately, for security reasons, we cannot provide any details".

Oh hey, someone found my topic! Yeah, this was pretty stupid of them. Hopefully they revert it, but I'm pretty doubtful given Nexon's track record with things - and if they do, it'll take them a good 5 years to do it. A response on it would be nice in any case. I'm trying to think of other ways to get around this that don't involve locks, but I'm just drawing blanks so far =/.
