Pirate Legend: I'm no thief. I'm a sky pirate.
Quote:Now we all give thanks that the game's creative directors aren't limited to what you've learned from Naruto.
Naruto wasn't even the anime I was thinking of when I wrote that. I was thinking of Black Star from Soul Eater when I made the Kusarigama reference. You could say you're spot on about the Fuuma Shuriken being a reference to Naruto, although I'm sure a crapton of other places use it - like Ragnarok Online (there's a Huuma Wind Shuriken, a reference to the Fuuma Shuriken) - in fact, Avenger's an energy-based Fuuma. The Hermit gathers energy in his claw and throws it in a ninja star like shape, which is not unlike the Fuuma Shuriken itself.
Quote:First of all, I never suggested a space pirate. Kimicatdemon did in what was clearly a joke.
But, if you're going to entertain the suggestion, I might as well point out that there's no reason a space pirate couldn't have lived on Victoria Island at one point.
That's true, though there's a giant problem with that.
Why would a Space Pirate legend have any beef with the Black Mage in the first place, let alone even know or care about him and his Black Wings?
I think that the logic of Nexon hating Pirates heavily bases itself on the fact that Masteria's been left alone for so darn long (which also shows the anti-pirate hate given that Masteria's conception never factored in Pirates) - not sayin' that Nexon WON'T rework Masteria, but I think the Black Mage is currently their greatest antagonist (which he and Naricain are probably huge case loads for them in terms of content), and they don't want to go off track of that because it means interrupting what could be a very epic and heavy storyline for another storyline they might easily screw up (given our own playerbase's expectations of Masteria) - and we know for sure that means interrupting what is probably considered canon lore in kMS (also remember that Masterian lore is strictly OUR lore - and as such was never intended to reach kMS the way it did, if at all).
My theory on the whole Masteria thing is that they KNOW it's there - why else would they take it from us and butcher it? Worst case scenario, it gives the Korean Devs a reminder that CWK (and by that note Masteria) DO still exist. All we need to do is be patient until the Black Mage dies, then we'll be on our way to killing a giant demon (Naricain) and THEN we can rage at Nexon for taking so darn long.
Hence why they need to get Pirates right this coming revamp (and possibly a minor reason as to why they'd revamp them).
Nevermind. I need to check before I write.
