Does wagering your invested time/effort in a video game equal wagering real material-valued goods?
I would say they are quite different in the consequences they potentially bring. If you run out of mesos, the worst you can do is go scam and piss off some other kid. If you run out of money, you'd probably do the same and risk starving a family.
