You mean like your assumption? Sorry I don't have my maplestory timeline out right now but it was between 08-09 as that's when I took my break for about a year.

How nonsensical considering that, for new accounts, your email address is your ID. Hell, that's the case with old accounts too.

Now it is, it wasn't before, or are you new to maplestory? In fact I believe your email wasn't even available unless you went through pay by cash at one point. Evidently you don't know about the most recent exploits, which is why you're trying to make an excuse for someones ignorance. That's fine and dandy, but the latest "exploit" was revolved around a hacker getting your IP address through MSN on a bowling invitation, then ask for a password reset through the MSN reset form. They evolved and adapted it as time went on to affect google and AIM. Never cracked yahoo by my knowledge.

There was a database breach years ago, but that didn't mean everyone was affected.

You have to verify the change using your old email address, hence why my brother is locked out of an account he can still log into on the site.

He typed in the wrong password too many times in Gamelauncher, and now he's required to verify his account before he can do anything.

Of course, he doesn't have access to the original email address so...

You'd think such a maplestory "encyclopedia" would know how to get their email changed within a few weeks, like, hey guess what, I did. Oh and the above method? Yeah I was a victim of, however I was able to get his Ip address and found out his address and threatend him with a FBI report.

Sorry Eos, I can't give you an answer on his method, so you prying at me about it, doesn't help either of us. He was able to pull up an email address associated with my maplestory account, and other variations with my IP. And the time I originally got hacked, was because they grabbed my IP through msn and were able to tree off to my other emails, such as gmail.
