does INT not contribute to m.attack tho? How would you count INT into total magic attack when looking at equips?

Damage formulas were changed. INT and Magic Attack for a mage works the same way as STR and Weapon Attack for a warrior. How much your INT gives depends on your quantity of Magic Attack and vice-versa.
