Hime doesn't. Or at the least, she's not very knowledgeable about Maple as she claims. Hence why here in SP, we hardly believe everything she says.
Anyway, I'd say the same sentiment other people have said: While equips would help a bit, it's mostly skill that helps you out the most in PvP. If you know how to play your class and pit it right against others, you'll score well.
