lvl 10+ to-be-pirates hp/mp

So, theres lots of event quests starting soon, and I wouldn't mind my lvl 10 to-be-pirate beginner to get those quests in his quest log, but doing quests give exp, and exp lvls up characters.. My question is, will I be losing hp/mp on each lvl up as a beginner that could have been a lvl as a pirate?
