That would be funny if it were the true reasoning why we use cotton.

If i remember correctly, I watched a segment on why our currency is the material it is. The narrator of the program said something along the lines of: there was a lot of trial and error to create a material that was rigid, didnt tear easily, and wouldnt disintegrate when wet. The current composition of the united states dollar bill is 25% linen and 75% cotton; red and blue synthetic fibers are distributed throughout the paper.
