You most likely get "stimulated" level ups, like when we had instant level 30 Dual Bladers, or the Maple Life item.

I know you can probably just buy slots using NX but it's still going to be extra money that could be used elsewhere
Since they do loose the HP, I'd say that is a likely outcome.
