UA Question - DualJester - 2011-02-22

Are they worth it? They miss out on additional HP/SP from job advances, the 12 stat demon helm, the Astaroth quest, the Mushking glove, and being able to complete the Subway PQ and Carnival PQ. Maybe other things as well. Would the loss of all that still make it worthwhile to make an Ultimate Paladin with Soul Driver and Cygnus Blessing? Or would it be better to just make a regular one and either forego the skill or just quest for it?

I ask because Nexon, in their infinited assholitude, give older players up to 6 or more character slots while new accounts only get 3. I have a Mechanic for hammer fun, a battle mage for suicidal squishy mage melee fun and a third empty slot. Getting both a Cygnus and Paladin would require one more slot than my account has, and I don't feel like making another one just for some gimmicks or blowing MTS earnings on a fourth slot for a character that can't even start at level 1. Will regular Paladins still be competetive even without the UA perks? Or will UA Paladins have a significant leg up on their old school brethren?

You'd want a lvl 120 cygnus in your account either way. The 24atk blessing with much less effort is quite worth it.

As for UA pally or not. I'd say go with the normal paladin, you can still get the skill if you really want it and you don't lose on those hp/mp.
You can still get the mushking glove since you can now access the mushroom kingdom even after level 38.

UA Question - Locked - 2011-02-22

I don't think you lose MP/HP upon creation.
You most likely get "stimulated" level ups, like when we had instant level 30 Dual Bladers, or the Maple Life item.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but would you happen to lose inventory slots because you skip the job advancement? :S
I know you can probably just buy slots using NX but it's still going to be extra money that could be used elsewhere Tongue

DBs did not have it at first though, they fixed it retroactively.

Since they do loose the HP, I'd say that is a likely outcome.

You lose HP/MP and slots but you don't lose any SP.
