I'm really not familiar with mechs at dgp but basically you need to pay more attention and make sure to use the appropriate pots.

If you are trying to squeeze every last penny out of a milk (for example) and you wind up getting killed because you are letting yourself just get to low then perhaps you need to consider switching to satays from singapore and healing yourself after every other hit. It seems like more work but if you get into a better routine it keeps you on your toes about potting so it doesn't slip your mind.

Of course the opposite may be true, you may be using a pot that is just too small and doesn't recover enough for you. Don't be afraid to overpot. A slightly higher pot bill is much less than what you pay in pots to regain the experience that you lost. If you find yourself frantically hitting the pot key more often and it's just not healing enough for you then switch to bigger pots.

I think the main problem you are facing is the relative lack of hp that mechs have when compared to a BaM. You are going to have to keep your eye on your hp more, that's just the way it is. Getting used to how to deal with higher hits is just something you need to do when you are manually potting. The problem really doesn't go away and will only get worse.
