Having difficulty training - FoolsLove - 2011-01-29 In the past 3 levels, I've died 5 times compared to 0 times between Lv1 and 112. It's only been happening since I started training at DGP. The potion burn has been insanely high because of my spamming potions because of their damage and my HP. I had a similar problem at first on my BaM when I first got here on him, but I fixed that with the use of Conversion and % potions from NLC. I can't do that with my Mech. There anything I can do that doesn't involve spending lots of meso on %hp items or NX for a pet? I'd rather not switch spots, as himes have become rather slow and pirates is just annoying to train at. Having difficulty training - dpeterlin - 2011-01-29 I'm really not familiar with mechs at dgp but basically you need to pay more attention and make sure to use the appropriate pots. If you are trying to squeeze every last penny out of a milk (for example) and you wind up getting killed because you are letting yourself just get to low then perhaps you need to consider switching to satays from singapore and healing yourself after every other hit. It seems like more work but if you get into a better routine it keeps you on your toes about potting so it doesn't slip your mind. Of course the opposite may be true, you may be using a pot that is just too small and doesn't recover enough for you. Don't be afraid to overpot. A slightly higher pot bill is much less than what you pay in pots to regain the experience that you lost. If you find yourself frantically hitting the pot key more often and it's just not healing enough for you then switch to bigger pots. I think the main problem you are facing is the relative lack of hp that mechs have when compared to a BaM. You are going to have to keep your eye on your hp more, that's just the way it is. Getting used to how to deal with higher hits is just something you need to do when you are manually potting. The problem really doesn't go away and will only get worse. Having difficulty training - Xephia - 2011-01-29 I had this problem too when I was trying to train there. However I decided just stay at the Pirate mini-dungeon in Herb Town/party at MP3 with HS + attacker until level 120, despite the amount of time I've spent there. The second I hit 120, I added one point into extreme mech, missile tank, and laser blast. Training at Dual Ghost Pirates has effectively become a breeze. However if you want to train at dgp and no where else, not invest any NX in a pet or autopot, then you're going to have to listen to dpeterlin and deal with over-potting and hope the drops can make up for it. Having difficulty training - DragonsWrath - 2011-01-30 It might be because mechs are too physically big - they take the magic damage far more, so that ends up being 200-300 more? i think ill stick to kru/captains for a while. My paladins high defense spoiled me though... Having difficulty training - FoolsLove - 2011-01-30 Yeah, I'm just sticking with over potting. I looted a potential scroll earlier today, so that will make up for about 4 or 5 levels worth of potions. I can't stand training at Kru/Capt, and as long as I watch my HP like a hawk I'm fine. Haven't died once in the past two levels. @DragonsWrath: It's not that, it does slightly more damage than the touch damage, but the problem is the HP of Mechs. I have 4.2k at 118 and have had low 4k HP for several levels. They do 800-1.1k damage including both touch/magic, taking 1/4th of my HP in one hit. Also it's not that I don't want to buy a Pet/Auto pot, it's that I have no money to buy NX. |
