Having difficulty training

In the past 3 levels, I've died 5 times compared to 0 times between Lv1 and 112. It's only been happening since I started training at DGP. The potion burn has been insanely high because of my spamming potions because of their damage and my HP. I had a similar problem at first on my BaM when I first got here on him, but I fixed that with the use of Conversion and % potions from NLC. I can't do that with my Mech. There anything I can do that doesn't involve spending lots of meso on %hp items or NX for a pet?

I'd rather not switch spots, as himes have become rather slow and pirates is just annoying to train at.
