- Would've saved Tals' things if she had them when her littlest kid played her account while she was AFK and dropped half her unrecoverable items.
They have value & purpose, but only so far as they were intended.
They're meant to prevent item loss, pure and simple, through any of the numerous ways that items can be lost, including your own screw ups.
They're not an anti-hacking device, they just happen to provide a little bit of protection in that event too.
I think in order for them to have value to me, they'd need at least 3 things added:
- prevent use of cursed scrolls of any kind
- account tradeable
- block deletion of character carrying item locked items
As they stand, they provide a kind of protection that's never useful to me - it's only making them undroppable and untradeable, neither of which is a positive attribute IMO (given that I play several characters on multiple accounts). If I knew once I stuck an item lock on, the item could never be destroyed by any means, I'd happily buy them and put them on the same equips I've nametagged. But it's like... gee, here's a way to waste a dollar.
