Parents can make up excuse after excuse, but honestly, who's fault is it for not being a responsible parent and telling their child no? It's their own fault and now they are paying the price for it. Illegal activity, whether it be online, offline, or down by the 15th street water front docks... is still illegal.

Honestly, the problem I see with this is that most parents didn't grow up with computers and a LOT of them are completely computer illiterate, excluding email and general web surfing. This is a completely new era from when I even grew up, but I'm thankful I've had the interest and time to learn most things on my own. I didn't even get my first home PC until I was 27 years old. I had no clue how to use it, but thankfully my older cousin was a complete computer nerd and took the time to teach me most basic things before I went off in my own direction. It's not that most parents don't care or are irresponsible, it's that they are simply oblivious to the new technologies that are being created.

Let's face it, we ALL did things our parents didn't know about. It's not that they didn't pay attention, it's that WE figured out how to pull the wool over their eyes and get away with it. However, if we did get caught, we were the ones responsible for our actions. Unfortunately in this day and age, everyone wants to blame the parents. Believe me when I say you can teach children ALL of the right things in life and they STILL have their own mind and make their own choices, good, bad or indifferent. If you do nothing but make the parents responsible for their actions, they will never learn.
