If your email is secure you are safe. By secure it means:

Has a strong password, fictional/difficult security answers, and same apples too the back up email.

A hacker cannot hack your account if you don't do two things:

Tinyurl links
Expose your email, which should be hidden and not associated with anything public.

Seriously, that's it, there's a few instances that involve IP tagging, or keylogging open port's, but once again, just keep to your friends and keep that circle close'd.
